My first post on insect and it’s a bug

Good day to the community and I hope everyone is staying safe from the pandemic. I have been silently checking out the posts in the community and highly impressed with the quality of submissions. As a lover of nature, I sincerely appreciate those insect images and silently wish I can take such great images in the nearest future. Nevertheless, I have decided to make my first post based on an insect I found in my house a few days ago.

The creature has six legs and the body can be seen to be divided into head, thorax and abdomen- a feature that scientifically qualifies it as an insect. A pair out of the three leg pairs is located in the thorax region while the rest of the legs are attached to the abdominal region of the body. The head is armed with a pair of short antennae.

The mouthpart is a pair of barbed mandibles that is always readied to bite. I had to take extra caution while trying to get good shots of the insect.

I am not a taxonomists but I found the insect a bit interesting. A closer look and one would see that the abdomen seems to be detaching off the rest of the body. It remains to be seen whether the insect is injured or that’s just how it is naturally. Below are the rest of the shots I took with my rather primitive iPhone.

I will appreciate if anyone can help identify this insect.
