The Black Mantis: Master of Camouflage

I was clearing the shrubs in the backyard of my house when I noticed this black praying mantis, which I caught using my smartphone.

Its body was completely leathery and pale black, and its perfect darkness made it possible for it to camouflage with dry twigs or leaves.

Like a boxer, the mantis always folds its front legs, which is one of its primary weapons for tearing apart prey. In addition, it also has powerful and keen jaws.

From its back, which still lacks wings, it appears to be a juvenile mantis.

The mantis jumped and vanished into the undergrowth after a few shots. Because, as I've already stated, it may camouflage very well with that dark skin.
