Yellow slime patch growing on stone

I want to call this a fungus but its actually a mold. Its known as scrambled egg slime or also known as dog vomit. Fuligo septica is a species of plasmodial slime-mold, is in the Myxomycetes class.

Waiting for a friend I was walking around by a lake and saw it growing on a light pole. Ive seen this stuff before but it was growing quite happily on the side of the street.

These photos are my content for #fungifriday

It was in a neighborhood I noticed it. With all the rain we get, along of interesting things grow on the sides of stone. Sometimes ferns, or vines, mushrooms and even molds.

I dont know much about it besides whats it called, with its funny name and all. But it stands out if looking for patches of growth.

The slime was growing down the side of the stonework as well, in little patches before it ended. I wonder how long it will live there. I should check back on it one day.

Was it crusty or slimey? This one looks like yellow lichen as dog vomit grows on wood and leaves rather than stone as it has nothing to feed on.

good point, maybe it is a lichen. I did not touch it to find out. But I think you're right it probably is. thanks for the feedback.
