How to Delete Temporary Files Manually

avatar

You just deleted Windows.old in your computer using Disk Clean-up then the next day temporary files have been created in the Temp folder with almost the same size as the Windows.old that you just erased.

You tried to delete the files in the Temp folder using Disk Clean-up but it was unable to to delete them. You also tried using "Storage settings" to delete those that are in the Temp folder but also unable to do so.

The last resort? Manually delete the temporary files located in the Temp folder using the command prompt.

In order for us to delete the temporary files without a problem, we have to have the correct permission on the Temp folder. Follow the YouTube video below on how to get the correct permission on the Temp folder.

It is now time to delete the temporary files on the Temp folder manually using command prompt, follow the YouTube video below on how to delete the files on the Temp folder using command prompt.

You may have to pause windows update after you are done with the deletion in order to prevent it from happening again until you have free up enough disk space.
