Bridged Router Bringing Local Network and Internet Down
There was a time when I had encountered a mysterious problem that is bringing the entire local network and internet down.
At first, I noticed that it has something to do with a malfunctioning network switch. So, what I did next is to isolate every switch in the network when I am about to close in into the culprit switch the local network and internet suddenly come alive.
I thought the reason why they come alive is because of the troubleshooting that I am currently doing when it happened. But then the problem returned again after a few minutes.
But then an idea suddenly popped into my mind. Why not I restart a bridged router in the network. The bridged router is only used for Wi-Fi connections.
And boom, the problem is fixed after I restarted the router.
What could be the problem
The bridged router is formerly used as the main router when it started to hang-up so I decided that it is time to replace it.
After acquiring a replacement, I decided to make it a Wi-Fi hotspot. But after a long time that it has been used as a Wi-Fi hotspot it started to behave abnormally and it brings the whole local network and internet connection down.
The bridged router may be causing a data collision into the local network, therefore, bringing the whole network into a halt.
