Dear !, on this occasion I want to share with you a photo shoot belonging to my family album. Which will, in turn, be my participation in this new challenge sponsored by @nelyp, @johan.norberg & @appreciator:

Behind The Photo contest - Edition #8.

From this moment I will show you how it is a common day of work for me, according to my profession "Civil Engineer", where I am in charge of building infrastructure works:

"We carried out an asphalt paving process, in which heavy machinery and construction equipment suitable for this type of work were used. I was in charge of directing the activity while I was taking captures for the photographic record."

According to the purpose of this contest, I will try to show you in my own words what is behind each photo.

That day, I had to go look for my daughter at school and be in charge of her. "As a good" father, I took the opportunity to show her a little of what my work routine is like, for this reason she served as a model for some of my captures :). Receiving a masterful educational session from his own father, from which she gained much knowledge.

First, all machinery to be used must be brought to the site. These include:

Sweeper: It is used to clean the surface of the pavement before proceeding with the laying of the asphalt.

Sealant (pneumatic compactor): Used to seal the asphalt binder, leaving it as a smooth surface, free of porosity.	Compactor vibrator: To compact the asphalt until it reaches the proper density and the union of all the particles.

"To take each photo I had to focus on the image of the background machinery, centering the girl's figure in the foreground. The lighting was favorable in broad daylight. My main effort was to create an attractive and easily interpretable summary for school-age children. The purpose behind each photo is to create teaching materials which I will later hand over to the preschool board where my daughter studies, for educational purposes. "

The graph shows the paving machine (Finisher).

It is in charge of laying the asphalt at a determined average thickness and width, it also has a boiler that keeps the asphalt warm to keep the optimum temperature throughout the process.

The workforce is essential for material handling, in addition to the machinists and operators they play a determining role in what final finish.

"To achieve this pair of photographs, I had to zoom in using my camera's Zoom, since the emission of smoke and heat due to the hot asphalt prevented me from approaching the group of workers. However, I managed to capture a good shot where the assisted manual placement process is appreciated."

In this part, we can see the compactor vibrator doing its job of compacting the aftáltica folder. This is one of the most important parts of the process because it comes to guarantee the strength and durability of the bearing layer. Which is subject to the action of traction forces generated by motor vehicles.

"For this pair of photographs I had to use some color filters, contrast and lighting. Because the duration of the asphalt lasted until late at night, at this point in the afternoon the focus of the camera was somewhat poor due to to the darkness of the environment."

The graph shows the Sealant (pneumatic compactor), giving the final finish to the bearing layer.

Finally, we obtained the results of the work, providing better road conditions with a first class finish.

500 meters of road were paved, with a pavement thickness of 10 cm. According to the project data, 820 tons of asphalt mix were placed.
