(Edited)

Welcome to the weekly "Sustainable News". There is a lot being done by countries, corporations and individuals to help our planet and change our behavior.

This Blog post aim to get you up to date with the new initatives !

Things are moving fast and our planet says: "THANK YOU !"

Sustainable Finance

  • Active management and ESG are a perfect match (FT)
ESG investments hold more than US$30tn of assets and the author of this opinion piece argues that as ESG integration within a portfolio needs constant revisiting to capture the prevailing mispricing (due to discrepancies between ESG scoring systems/providers and the static nature of ESG data), it could benefit actively managed portfolios.

  • Ikea says it’s easier being green if you are private (FT)
An opinion piece on how Ikea is leading on sustainability and whether listed groups can compete with privately held rivals on sustainable business practices given they are more exposed to short-term pressures.

Sustainable Solutions – Foodtech:

Fastfood chain Burger King has announced its plans to roll out a meat-free version of its Whopper (called Rebel Whopper) in 25 European countries across 2,500 stores using patties made by Unilever – the first major restaurant chain deal secured by Unilever’s The Vegetarian Butcher brand.

  • Maple Leaf is the first major food company to go carbon neutral (FoodDive)

According to an announcement made by Canadian meat and plant protein producer Maple Leaf Foods, it is the first major food company to become carbon neutral as it is aggressively working to reduce its emissions and has made significant progress towards halving its environmental footprint by 2025.

Hi @vlemon

Reading this kind of news makes me feel very good about the future of our planet but also about the future for our children and I dare to say also about our grandchildren even if I don't have grandchildren yet. We must think about them globally, because it is them who will be the future inhabitants of our planet.

Small actions like these encourage responsible companies to follow this example for their own benefit.

Cordial greeting

Hi @project.hope !
Thank you for passing by and leaving such a nice comment. I totally agree with your comment and this is why I also like to show that the Bottom-Up pressure is working out !
Consumers and citizens now buy, vote and act very differently compared to just 5 years agos and this is why we see huge corporation and politicians taking these issues into accounts.

Never underestimate the power of one small individual :D.

Best,
@vlemon

Would you mind if I take few minutes of your time?

Together with few core members of project.hope team - we'te trying to promote our recent publication: an article explaining economy behind our non-profit community project build on STEEM blockchain.

Perhaps I could ask you to spare few minutes and check it out and share your feedback with me.

I would absolutely appreciate it a lot. I read all comments and I drop solid upvote on each valuable one.
