Starting food forests and gardens wherever possible is perhaps even more important because we are headed for global disruptions of the food supply and helping each other during this transition is paramount.

The real Green Revolution is about freeing ourselves Yes, you heard well: that very responsibility is ours now!

Great info on re-localization of food and emphasizing importance of community! In a food scarcity situation, you would only be able to grow food in small front yard lot if everyone in the community was collaborating otherwise someone would just steal all your food on the vine at night. Thanks for sharing.

hello - yes that is why neighborhoods must band together - this is essential but I assume that some will make sure to watch their areas at some point - there is no other way - cooperation is stronger than individualism and many people will quickly see that helping each other is better than stealing as it will be all for free

in the long run, the fear of stealing does not make much sense - the way I see it

Agree. Real communities of people you actually know are so important. There is a survivor of the hyperinflation in Venezuela who writes of how he lived in a suburban subdivision. He didn't really know his neighbors and then many moved away so the community became a target for crime with vacant properties and no communal response. They grew their food indoors and left their house looking like it wasn't maintained to blend in:
