How To Mine Pexa (AMD)

Here lately, I've been dabbling a bit into crypto mining again and kind of randomly stumbled into a crypto called Pexa. I've been mining it the past couple days simply because it's a rather low difficulty crypto as well as a rather young one having only been announced around 6 months ago. I won't get into the details of the crypto here, but you can feel free to check out it's ANN here. I also like it because there will only ever be 17 million (ish) coins which is rather low compared to many other cryptos that are out there.

Note: The following article isn't financial advice. As with all investments, crypto mining comes with it's risks. As with many things, do your research.

This tutorial will be rather straight forward. Let's get into it!

First, get yourself a Pexa wallet from Pexa's homepage here and set it up. If you've ever set up a crypto wallet before, then this process will be very familiar to you.

Second, we'll be downloading a miner (if you don't already have one). There's a few out there, but I like to use TeamRedMiner which you can find here. As with many miners, there's a dev fee with it, but it's very small. Go ahead and extract those files and let's find ourselves a mining pool!

For mining pools, we have several options. Most of them currently don't take a pool fee for mining Pexa. I personally like MinerMore, but you can easily find others. Just whatever you're comfortable with. For MinerMore, you'll need to register with the site, but it's really straight forward. The Pexa listing on the site will give you the info that you'll need to mine it.

Next, let's open the TeamRedMiner folder and from here, we'll need to edit the start_x16rv2 bat file. This is easily done by right-clicking on it and hitting edit. If you've mined cryptos in the past, then you'll probably know what to do here, but for those not familiar, you'll simply need to edit it to put in the info that MinerMore gives you. You'll see some info for RavenCoin, but in the notes, it'll tell you that you can simply use a :: in front of a line to stop it from running (since it turns an otherwise executable line into a comment). Since we'll be wanting to mine Pexa instead of RavenCoin, we'll simply comment out the RavenCoin line and uncomment the Pexa line. This is what the bottom of my batch file looks like and yours should look something like this:

:: teamredminer.exe -a x16rv2 -o stratum+tcp://east.us.rvn.minermore.com:5201 -u Fearless.worker-p x

:: If you want to mine Pexa coin instead of Ravencoin, uncomment and use this line instead:
teamredminer.exe -a x16rv2 -o stratum+tcp://pexa.minermore.com:4553 -u Fearless.worker -p x

pause

You can remove the last few lines from yours and copy and paste this where you'd erased those lines at. Just make sure to change your username and worker name (where mine shows Fearless.worker) to your username and workername, otherwise you'll be mining for me... not that I would mind lol. Once you've done this, you can simply save the file from the top-left and unless you made a typo somewhere, you should be good to mine! You can start mining simply by double clicking the batch file to start the miner.

After your miner starts, at some point, you'll need to go onto MinerMore and setup your payout address (which you can get from your Pexa wallet) so you can actually get paid! From here, you can also setup your minimum payout amount.

That's it for today! Happy mining!
