Real humans, that is what it is all about. A peer-to-peer network build on trust. Pi uses the Stellar Consensus Protocol {SCP} with a mechanism called Federated Byzantine Agreements {FBA} to make it work. As a user that is something you might even forget. But inside the Pi app you can read all about it.

Pi is a system, the team states, that is user and enviroment friendly. And all you have to do is login once every 24 hours, to keep the Pi growing. The app does not even need to keep running. And so far I have not dived into the whitepaper yet, but the Pi does indeed grow fast. It is a Pi counter that adds quickly. Kind of fun to look at, at least once a day.

Could it be worth it? Who knows, it might be the next big thing, or not. What I do know though is that it is easy to join and I do like to see that Pi number grow. It starts with 0.39 Pi per hour, but the bigger your group, the faster is goes and the bigger the piece of the Pi.
