When considering the costs and benefits of reopening schools this fall, let's hope that the decisions are informed by the science that shows that children are at a lower risk of catching or transmitting COVID-19. Depriving kids of the knowledge and socialization experienced in schools is bad. Remote learning is unlikely to replicate the benefits of classroom learning (although that is also something susceptible to study). Knowledge is good. We should act on the best available information.
