BREAKING!!! Lagos Records First Case of Coronavirus In Nigeria

When I saw this, this morning it really got me thinking, I can remember quite well when Ebola came into Nigeria we were prevented from eating any kind of meat especially bush meat.
Now that corona virus is here in Nigeria what are we going to stop eating now?

Although when I heard of this disease in China and how it killed many I wasn't happy at all, but i wasn't expecting it to come into Nigeria, but here is it, hmm it breaks my heart. I just hope that there would be a cure to this before it spreads across.

It is sad that there is a communicae at the early hours of this morning at around 1:40am from the
Lagos State Ministry of Health confirming the first case of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria.
The state Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, in his statement said the government had reported it to the Federal Ministry of Health. We hope that the Nigeria government will not politicize this tragic occurrence has as always been the case.

"The case is an Italian citizen who entered Nigeria on the 25th of February from Milan, Italy, for a brief business visit.

"He fell ill on the 26th February and was transferred to Lagos State Biosecurity Facilities for isolation and testing. COVID-19 infection was confirmed by the Virology Laboratory of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, part of the Laboratory Network of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. The patient is clinically stable, with no serious symptoms, and is being managed at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Yaba, Lagos," the statement read partly. Source

The deadly virus is said to have originated from Wuhan city of China which has reportedly killed thousands of people and has spread across countries across the world which recently included Nigeria.
Although, Nigeria has denied recording such case until yesterday when the agency through its official twitter handle announced the first case of Coronavirus…

Following the outbreak of this deadly disease these are my fears:

Health Implications.

1. Overcrowding due to more affected Individuals. Wards and beds will be filled up.

2. Doctors or medical practitioners may as well be Infected if not careful while treating the patience.

3. Another pressure the might face maybe Insufficient drugs or well equipped machines to treat the Infected persons.

Medical researchers Implications.

The medical researchers has to find preventive measures to cure this deadly disease or better still look for the cure to it. So the pressure mounted on them will be much if they ain't strong they might as well break down.

Business and investment Implications

Yes this is so disheartening because many business that their sources was from China ,USA, and all the affected countries may likely close down or fold up. Worst still if they business gurus are able to get through to some of this products or materials and being that its in less quantity and the consumers are much the price of the product or material will automatically shot up living the people stranded.
The cost of selling the available products will really be on the high side.

So you see we really do need our medical researcher and practitioners to find a cure or solution to this deadly outbreak.
