Very glad to read how you shift the focus of the real problem. Above all we must simply carry on doing the right thing and working towards sustaining ourselves holistically and stop believing in things we don't need - especially propaganda and hype. There are real things to be getting on with rather.
There are cosmic shifts (incl. solar ones) that tell us a story about our destiny and future we cannot yet properly understand.

Great going with your plan to feed your family largely by your own efforts. Mini neighbourly-family corporations should be the way forward. If it works out and it takes moving to the South of France to get in more harvestables, let us know and we will be joining you there or somewhere in Northern Spain or maybe even Croatia (with our - cheap and cheerful - container build ideas to get us started).

I enjoy the idea that we cannot yet properly understand our destiny. As you say in the end all we can really do is focus on ourselves... and the community around us.

I was offered a property in Tarragona which ticked most of the boxes but I found the soil there to be very dry and no where near as fertile as the area we are currently in. In high season it feels like there is fruit dripping from every tree here, figs, plums, cherries, blackberries & grapes to name a few. Yet no one seems to eat it! This year we will be taking full advantage of that and learning to store it through the winter.
