Tiangong-2 has been deorbited by China

Tiangong-2, an Experimental Space Station launched by China in September 2016, has been deorbited intentionally over the Pacific Ocean so that the risk of hitting people on the ground could be reduced. Though it blasted over the ground, what about debris? Whether it will fall on ground or float in space, I don’t know.

While deorbiting Tiangong-2, China had full control over it. But the first space station entered earth’s atmosphere in uncontrolled condition and smashed down over the South Pacific Ocean a year ago. I think China may have lost their control over Taingong-1.

Soon after the launch of Tiangong-2, China sent two astronauts named Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong who had several experiments there. The experiments continued for 30 days on the space station. Then a second spacecraft was launched by China in April 2017 for test purpose and “robotic demonstrations.” However, there were no crew members inside the spacecraft.

Though China has lost two space stations, they conducted various experiments and gain valuable experience to be in orbit. To launch and keep space station moving in orbit is not an easy task. They not only did it successfully, but also learned how to dock crewed and uncrewed vehicles with a space station.

China may construct the Tiangong-3 or another space station and launch it in the space to conduct other various experiments.
