STEM & DIY: Introductory Post

(Edited)

I have always been in support of the idea to learn anything and everything by "Do it Yourself" approach (Of course, it is not always possible though). I have a photographic memory, so it is an easy way out for me to remember the details for a longer period of time.

Even if you don't have a stronger photographic memory, DIY projects and tasks help you out in two ways...

  • Firstly, despite of not having a good photographic memory, having seen the process happening in front of the eyes is more explanatory than reading it.

  • Secondly, since you are doing it physically, your brain is working to figure out many unknown things and opening new pathways for the neurons in the process, ultimately increasing and improving your intelligence and brain capabilities.

This is true for understanding STEM concepts as well. Kids/Students should be provided the DIY ways to learn STEM logics, concepts, etc as much as possible.

...and, what would be better for kids than if these are in the form of puzzle like toys.

There are many companies and people who are developing STEM related DIY Kits, Projects, Videos, etc and even sharing them on the net collectively and individually. Some of these are free and some of them are available to be purchased (the more the brain of the maker behind making the kit easier to understand and follow, the higher the price), but...

...neither everything on the net is good, even to consider putting one's time for them, nor everyone is good in searching the net , and even the ones, who are good at it, it takes a lot of their time.

Now, thanks to Build-it, we have a place to look for them and find many DIY things in lesser time.

A DIY Platform to Find & Share Life Hacks

This situation makes me take the advantage of this platform for sharing projects and kits I find the best for covering DIY & STEM both aspects in a series of posts. Hopefully, this would be useful & interesting for many Steemians, either for themselves or for their kids/children.

Engino STEM Robotics Mini ERP 1.3

This is one of the best fun to learn kits for robotics, clearing out many basic and some of the advanced level concepts on robotics. Even though, this kit is designed for primary and secondary school children, it is equally fun and interesting for robotics hobbyist of any age.

My purpose behind this post was to introduce this series of posts with you guys, so I am leaving it with the introduction of "Engino STEM Robotics Mini ERP 1.3" as well. In the next post, I'll discuss, how this work, what benefits this kit will provide and what advantages kids will be getting with this kit to explore the field of robotics, etc.

HAVE A NICE DAY

I wonder if @stemgeeks could look towards Build-it as a potential place to on-board from?

It would be good if they do. Most of the inventions, we are getting advantages/benefits in our era, are the results of DIY (to some extent) approach.
