Boulder Sunday - The Boulders of Clear Creek

(Edited)

I spent the weekend up in the San Benito mountains, home to the California state gemstone, Benitoite.

Some of the boulders that dot the landscape can be monsters.

They can get in the way of driving!

Some of them are even solid jadeite!

Some of them are full of gems, like this boulder of andradite garnets!

Some of them I have no idea what they are made up of.

Whatever they are, they add to an already beautiful scenery.

Happy Boulder Sunday! Thank you to @shasta for starting this series!

Boulders are cool. Nice series and likewise the rock formations. 🙂👍

It's interesting to think of the path they have taken over thousands of years to get to where they are.

Yeow those are some great big beautiful boulders 💎 @rt395! :-)
Love the view from up there! I like to also imagine the history
of stones. Look out for dodge boulders! Reverse of potholes!

Thanks. I have always wanted to see one tumble down a mountain, but as of yet, probably for the better, I haven't.

I'm very suspicious of that boulder sitting in the middle of the road... BLM shenanigans?
