Motherboard Finally Went into Eternal Sleep Last Night... FML
Well, seems like after a month of limping my x399 motherbaord along it finally gave up the ghost last night. Had set the PC to sleep while I napped, woke up around 8:30PM and went to power on the workstation only to be greeted with a foul BZZZZT noise which I reckon was a 120 volts short somewhere with the system briefly lighting up to boot then going black. Looking inside the case I noticed that the motherboard was showing that it had no power, so I swapped out the Corsair power supply I had in it with another PSU and tried to power it on.. Again no dice. The board wasn't even showing that it had power.
Pulled the board out, removed all but one RAM stick and all the otehr stuff like GPU and whatnot to see if I could get it to run, thining maybe perhaps it was a grounding issue on the case somewhere.. Sadly this doesn't seem to be the case and without even so much as an indicator of power to the board when tested on 2 different power supplies I think it's safe to say that the board is likely done for.. Perhaps even the 1950x CPU as well however I don't have a TR4 socket board to test it on.. The RAM and 3 m2 SSDs might be borked too depending on how the system shorted out internally, not particularly enthusiastic to know the extent of the damage.. Pretty fucking depressed this morning. This PC was my baby and watching it be sick the past month only to blow up last night certainly has taken a large chunk of my psyche and shit on it. I guess on the plus side it seems my GPU is fine so that is a bonus.. However at the end of the day having my workstation crap out like that is a rough go.
Will have a look and see if it's possible to RMA the board.. although my dumbass threw out the socket cover for the mobo so I don't know if they'll even look at the thing.. So far in looking for a replacement I only found one on ebay and the guy wants like $800 CAD for it which is fucking ridiculious ... Not sure what the best course of action is.. They don't make these boards anymore and I am not entirely sure my CPU didn't get toasted when the board decided to shit itself electrically..

That sucks. I know zero about building a computer but it sounds bad. Like smoke 2 joints bad.
Yeah man.. It was limping for the past month.. Last night was it's last breath though. RIP

Sigh I don't know what I will do if my laptop won't conk-out on me @klye but it is Lenovo so I guess that it will outlive me.

Twas my pride and joy.. Glad I still have something to use in the mean time but this secondary older PC has demons too.. sigh
