The Fear of Artificial Intelligence

in #blog3 months ago (edited)

One of the most astonishing and, to some people, maybe the most terrifying of all the technological advancements we have seen in recent years is of course artificial intelligence. Although it has the potential to transform many different industries, people are becoming more worried that it could replace their jobs. It might be true that many jobs are already getting automated, but I personally don't see this as something that people should worry about at the moment.

In first place we are not born to live like slaves and work 8 hours every day. We need to automate everything and have more comfortable lives. We have everything we need on this planet. Enough water, food and other resources. If governments agree to work together and use the resources in the right way, we wouldn't have any problem. We could actually reach a point where work becomes a voluntary thing.

Artificial intelligence is so powerful because it is simply a computer system that can learn fast and adapt based on the information it is fed and that's in a very short time in comparison to us humans which is a real advantage that can be used by many individuals and businesses. By it analyzing a lot of information much faster than any human can do and also making decisions based on that they can save a lot of time and get fast results. We need such a tool to perform tasks that would otherwise require a lot of effort, such as analyzing complex financial data, recognizing speech and images, and even driving cars.

The fear that artificial intelligence will take peoples jobs stems from the fact that many jobs today are repetitive and require little creativity or critical thinking. These are exactly the types of jobs or tasks that are can be easily automated. For example, customer service jobs can be automated by chatbots that can answer common questions without the need for a human representative and this is very common now. Similarly, factory jobs can be automated by robots that can perform repetitive tasks much faster and efficiently than humans. And eventually we will avoid many bad accidents at factories too.

This fear is not only limited to low skilled workers but also highly skilled ones, such as lawyers and doctors that are not immune to the threat of artificial intelligence. Yes, artificial intelligence can analyze large amounts of information much faster and that it can be used to identify patterns and trends that will take a lot of time and would be difficult for a human to spot. It can be a great help and an amazing assistant in every business to save a lot of time. It is a powerful tool for diagnosing illnesses and predicting outcomes in legal cases but it can't replace a doctor or a lawyer.

Another reason why people are afraid that artificial intelligence will take their jobs is the speed at which it is advancing. It is capable of achieving things that we could only dream about with each passing year. As a result, an increasing number of jobs face the threat of automation.

So, what can we do about it? One solution is to focus on reskilling and upskilling workers. This means providing training and education to workers so that they can acquire the skills they need to work alongside artificial intelligence. For example, instead of laying off customer service representatives, companies could train them to work alongside chatbots to provide more personalized and efficient customer service. Seriously I had always to look for a real human to talk to when a chat bot can't help me find the solution for me problem and that's in 90% of the cases. Similarly, doctors and lawyers could be trained to use artificial intelligence tools to enhance their decision-making capabilities and it will save them a lot of time.

Another solution is to focus on creating new jobs that are specifically designed to work alongside artificial intelligence and that's going to be a lot of fun. For example, companies could create roles such as "artificial intelligence trainers" or "artificial intelligence explainers" that would work alongside artificial intelligence systems to ensure that they are operating effectively and ethically. These roles would require human intelligence and creativity, which cannot be replaced by artificial intelligence.

More and more jobs are at risk of becoming automated due to the speed at which artificial intelligence is developing, but also many new employments are being created. However, by focusing on reskilling and upskilling workers, as well as creating new jobs that work alongside artificial intelligence, we can ensure that humans and artificial intelligence can work together to create a better comfortable future for us humans. Also, we must never forget that artificial intelligence is a fantastic tool that we can use to enrich and improve our lives forever and not our enemy. And I would really love to hear your opinion about the topic :)

Hi, you are back? I remember the nice video call years ago :)

Yes, I am finally back. I just remembered it few days ago as well. We need to do that again! How are you dear?

I am fine, thanks! You may look up my internet page and sent me an Email, I sent you then my phone number for a SIGNAL Video call. Would be great!

Irgenwie finde ich die webseite nicht oder oeffnet sich nicht? Ist die addresse richtig? Mein Email ist auch [email protected]

Oh Great! I will do that :)

I see no difference between artificial intelligence and human beings sometimes. Humans are not with out flaws. Therefore ai has to be flawed as well. Only in self actualization can we understand our place in the universe and our relationship to eachother (humans and ai).

Thats absolutely true and very well said!

Been a while since I've seen your name in my feed, welcome back!

Btw, you may want to undelegate from @steemhunt as they're no longer operational.

I am happy to see your comment too! Yes I wasn't active for a long time and now I am trying to get back. Many things changed in my life, but I am trying to make time for everything. So, you will see my name a lot in the future :)

Hi @acidyo. The sad kitty has made this undelegate link or you:
hivesigner undelegate link..

I just followed that link and undelegated. Hopefully I did it right!

Didn't mean to create it, but you should check put @peakd as it's a lot easier to do there through the wallet page.

I will do that! I still have to learn a lot of things as I missed a lot the past months and feel still confused. Do you guys have a discord? I dont find it anymore.
