RE: 31 Content Curation Best Practices for Technology Content Publishers

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

There is so much here, @blockurator and I've been wanting to come and read it and do it justice - for days. It's been sitting open in my browser...

Two things, particularly, resonated for me:

  1. Curation is not easier than creation and which is why this curation thing on Steemit confounds me a little. Actually, a lot. Because if one's doing it properly (IMHO), as you point out, there is a selection process and I think it's incument on one to say why one has selected various pieces (your value add).

  2. The resurgence of long posts and the organic growth of followers. This seems to me to be the best approach and I instinctively have headed in this direction. I have shifted my approach on Steemit, and it's also why I now primarily blog from WP using @steempress.

As for audience: given that mine is a personal blog, and pretty eclectic, that's another matter. However, I'm planning to start work on a client's (new) blog which is all about travel. So there, audience, and building a following will be central.

Thanks as always, Allen, for such useful insights.

You're welcome, Fiona. Your response was just as insightful as my post. Thanks for the great comment. You're absolutely correct on both points. I also like SteemPress. It's an awesome tool.
