Groundbreaking New Material Could Allow AI to Merge With the Human Brain

Scientists have discovered a ground-breaking bio-synthetic material that they claim can be used to merge artificial intelligence with the human brain.[1]

Presented at the American Society Fall 2020 Virtual Expo, this newly created bio-synthetic could allow the connection between electronics and human tissue.

The challenge with such an interconnection between man and machine has been down to scarring caused by traditional metals such as Gold, Silver, Steel or Silicon.

But scientists believe they have overcome this issue with their new bio-synthetic.

Dr David Martin, who led the study, said:

We got the idea for this project because we were trying to interface rigid organic microelectrodes with the brain, but brains are made out of organic, salty, live materials.

It wasn't working well, so we thought there must be a better way. We started looking at organic electronic materials like conjugated polymers that were being used in non-biological devices.

We found a chemically stable example that was sold commercially as an antistatic coating for electronic displays.[1]

This new polymer, known as Pedot, has exactly the properties required to interface electronic hardware with human tissue without causing scarring while also dramatically improving the performance of medical implants.

How do you feel about technology rapidly reaching mans ultimate goal, which is to merge man with machine?
