Why is AI hyped so much in 2026?

So I got a comment from @jfang003 about AI hype taking the shine from crypto in 2026 and I can't agree more. The thing is that the AI hype is legitimate and justifiable. 2026 is the battle of the greatest AI agents.
With AI people can basically plan their schedules, do research faster, automate their manual responsibilities, pay less for labour, delegate their functions to models without even needing to employ anyone.
These are real world use cases that anyone would pay for, because they solve problems and people are keying into these to make their lives better.
In my opinion AI is not just a hype, it's a revolution, a force that is flooding through and destroying manual processing, and because it creates a system that already solves the problem that many systems are trying to solve without breaking a sweat, no one is considering the danger of it replacing jobs.
Powerful models are being paid everyday. AI companies are crowdsourcing training and paying millions of dollars to training agencies and developing more powerful models. Claude just recently released Cable 5, and it's capabilities are too invasive to the extent that the US is considering banning it.
But, irrespective of the fact that it is considering highly unsafe because of its reasoning capabilities, a lot of people would still pay for that model so that they'll not only have unfair advantages over others, but so they could squeeze and milk AI capabilities to the maximum for their own benefit.
Crypto lacks modern innovative builders
With crypto we have builders who are not innovative, and users who only care about money. Crypto was the first to actually have AI plugged into it, AI that could explore chains and seek for pure DEFI functionalities, but most of those projects with those AI functionalities had fraudulent founders and the tech was never good enough to onboard norms with no real knowledge of what DEFI is.
For me I think crypto lacks innovative builders on a large scale. AI for example was firstly introduced in crypto but a lot of crypto and project owner never really tapped into the capabilities of what can be possible with AI to actually onboard normies outside crypto with the real money to splash around.
Crypto father figures?
Crypto has had a lot of father figures too, the likes of CZ Binance, Vitalik Buterin (founder of ethereum) Michael Saylor as well who is a dominant investor in BTC.
Like it or not, defunct FTX founder Sam-Bankman Fried was also a huge founder and a father figures in crypto but allowed his greed take over him and used his platform to scam millions of people worldwide.
These people are innovators in crypto but no matter how creative they were, they couldn't align their respective crypto ventures to the latest AI trend so this could onboard millions of people in crypto.
CZ went to prison for fraud, SBF is still in jail for fraud, ETH founder is still clueless about how to scale eth even though he was considered of of the smartest minds because of his discovery or creation of smart contract.
Infact smart contracts have been used to scam people so far, scammers have plugged in into its weaknesses and used that to scam people of their hard earned money.
No one is building shields or guards for the weaknesses in smart contracts, no one is thinking of building crypto functionalities that you can easily plug-in to chatGPT or Claude.
Crypto needs creative minds
This goes to generally show that modern day crypto founders are not creative, not brilliant and just bunch of people who are extractive in nature and using ICOs and other methods.
The hype with AI is probably not going anywhere and I think it's because AI is a movement that will change a lot.
Yes, one of the by-product of this change is taking jobs from people, but it's just beginning to look inevitable and people are accepting it in massive scale because it provides something that solves real world use case and even the regulars are going to be paying heavily for it.
AI really isn't going away, but I do think that the bubble regarding the funding and revenue will pop at some point. I think the returns won't match the investment, even if it is incredibly powerful. I do think that the crypto sector will get back some of the hype back once that happens.
Yeah, at the moment a lot of people aren't actually getting back their ROI, I've spent some time, money and effort on AI and automation and currently there's I haven't gotten that back, I hope I do, but I do agree that a lot of people will waste money trying out AI and it won't work for them
