AI and its uses in psychology

Greetings, I'm here again, sure it seems strange that I'm talking about psychology, yes, but this post came partly by an idea I raised in a post @lanzjoseg in which I commented

"Taking into account the behavioral profiles, this can be used in many ways perhaps as everything for good and bad, I mean put an example, someone depressed who so to speak you put in touch with some artificial intelligence able to help him in that situation in which he is, being some kind of psychologist or similar, sounds great, doesn't it? But if this is used to persuade or manipulate people to achieve a certain goal... it sounds terrible, doesn't it?". Source

From what I said to myself listen is a good idea, because you don't search a little more and comment in a post about what you have found... And that's how we got here, to this post in which after doing some searches I can say that my idea was not so far from reality and that if the safest thing is that there are people working on it...

Source

It seems that there is no AI capable of analyzing or carrying out psychological studies at all, but as Aleix Hildebrandt comments in an article called "The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Psychology" published in LinkedIn (in spanish).

"If up to now it has been very complex to work with some constructs due to their multicausality, as well as to establish absolute laws, and therefore reliable prediction models, perhaps it is not so complex if we work with the support of an evolved AI to carry out such a function. That is why an interesting door is beginning to open in front of those of us who are dedicated to the study of human behaviour and its mental processes, comparable to the appearance of the steam engine in the industrial era. It is to be hoped that AI will incline even more the asyndotic slope where the current research is located, creating a paradigm shift in a few decades, if not years.”

Source: Fragment extracted from the above mentioned article.

However, once the AI has been developed with the appropriate values for these purposes, it could give accurate results provided that the data administered to it are free from bias.

But in order to achieve all this it is necessary to bear in mind that it is not only to know how a person thinks, since in psychology, it can be said that it is not only how a person speaks or thinks, but there are other sources that provide valuable data, either the body attitude, the form or tone when speaking, the actions in front of certain particular circumstances, and so on.

Source

So this IA would have to be composed of several "pieces" so to speak, explaining that better, it could be said that it can interpret gestures, whether bodily or facial, some system capable of capturing decibels and making a comparison during the process of information exchange, etc..

If you think that this is not developing, then I tell you that there is already a bot (EmiBot) able to recognize emotions and apparently has come to have a rate of 95.63% accuracy (here a link if you need more information (in english) ).

It could be said that the AI we are looking for in this case is one of the four types of AI that exist (according to Arend Hintze), called "theory of mind", but I would say that we would have to join it with another to make it more complete, this other called "self-consciousness". Being the first mentioned defined as an AI capable of understanding people, or any creature with emotions and behavior, which allows it to possess social interaction. And the second but not less important, the self-consciousness that this human capacity would bring (in some cases) to possess consciousness about things; it is important to point out that this could be considered something pending to be concretized.

For now I have only seen that there are certain apps (applications) that complement this field, applications like IFeel, which gives you the ability to measure your mood and keep a record of it every day, as well as analyze interactions with a bot or personal deals or even Chatbots (like Woebot) that help people suffering from anxiety, even this one says it can help people who have symptoms of depression, and if they go a little further, since it integrates data records and even access to emergency numbers when you notice some indication of key words such as suicide.

Source

Woebot makes use of Facebook to make contact with the person and during several times a day asks them questions such as what they are doing or how they feel, thus giving them a way to reveal patterns that can be linked to certain types of feelings and thoughts in certain situations.

Thank you for getting to this part of my post, I have post pending on that special work (project) that I told you, but I have had delays with certain deadlines by some personal inconveniences that have arisen, but good soon comes... I do not leave without wishing you a good day, late or night.

Dear @jjqf

I'm absolutely crazy about topics related to AI. And mixing topics about AI and psychology worked out very well. Solid read.

ps. perhaps you should consider joining our small (but strong) team of steemit content creators passionate about technology.
Check out our site: www.projecthope.pl and let me know what do you think

Greetings @crypto.piotr, thank you for the support you always give, a pleasure to know that you liked my post.👍

As for the proposal you put to me, I have to say that it would be an honor for me to belong to that good group 🤩, so I would accept to belong to it, again thank you for the support and for giving me this great opportunity, God bless you.

Hi @jjqf

Do you use telegram by any chance?

Lovely. I'm glad to know you like this idea :)

Project hope channel: https://t.me/joinchat/AAAAAEUVYXAdUvpErCCZcw

Join and let me know, I will give you permissions to post links to your own publications. Again: we're all trying to post maximum 1-2 times a week on this channel, to avoid it being dominated by one person. Assume that you would share your most interesting publications.

Our current plan is to organize this small group and ensure that it's working fine. Later on we will promote this group and bring more exposure to this channel (both on steemit and on other social media). This way we will create new channel that will allow all of us to get some traffic to all our publications. Including yours.

This is kind of "social experiment" and I only hope that we will manage to achieve what others so far are mostly failing: building small but strong and supportive community of people sharing similar passions and valaues.

WELCOME ON BOARD! :)

ps.
Obviously it would be great if you would support others and from time to time check out recent publications posted by others.
If you wouldn't have time to comment, then just drop an upvote :)

Please remember, you can also simply visit @project.hope where I currently resteem all those publications.

Yours
Piotr

Greetings @crypto.piotr, I already join the telegram, although I have it (the app) I don't usually use it much but now I will make the exception.

Of course, if God wills, between all of us paddling towards the same horizon we will reach it.👍

With pleasure I will do the best that I can and that this in my reach, already the account of the project I follow it (if I don't remember badly), well the other doubts I will do them by that channel (telegram).

Again thank you very much, have a good day.✌️

It's an eternal race. Artificial intelligence seeking to replace human labor.

The advances are surprising, but the limits may be approaching.

Greetings @yonnathang, thank you for the comment, you're absolutely right, it's a race that has been running for some time (so to speak).

As for the limits, we'll see in its moment what happens, who wins in that race, but the future may surprise us.

Thanks for reading my post, have a happy day.✌️

@jjqf, For sure Artificial Intelligence will going to developed in Full Fledged Way. At this moment no one comment how this Technology will lead and what impact it will bring on us Human Beings. Stay blessed.

Greetings @chireerocks, you're right, few talk about it, but if I don't remember badly here long ago in steemit I saw a post about it (I don't remember the author at the moment), thank you for reading my post, have a good day

Explainable AI will make Q&A programming possible. AIs will be capable of specifying the lines of codes that do not perform to user desired outcome. Something like this will aid psychologists in relating behavior patter across mountains of information. Leveraging research time in this way frees up time for critical thing. This alone is immense. One professional can expect the life work capacity of 10 or more.

Greetings @machnbirdsparo, what you're saying is true, and I think that will be part of the benefit of a psychology-oriented AI.

As you commented this will help many researchers to dedicate more time to other projects or jobs outside of the ability to relate in the "machines" is faster than ours so in less time there will be comparative results for further analysis.

Thank you for reading my post, have a nice day.👍
