Researchers Uncover Big Benefits in Staying Active Daily

For those who have been engaging in moderate exercise for around 3 minutes each day, if they were to increase that to at least 14 minutes it could potentially have a big impact according to new research, which suggests that you can see potential benefits coming from little change. By increasing only a few minutes of moderate exercise daily research suggests that it might help to cut the risk of stroke by as much as 40% according to a new study in Jama Network Open.

This research adds to further understanding that there are negative effects that can be linked with a sedentary lifestyle, sitting down for too long and not moving or being active enough.

Previously, researchers have warned that there could be great risks that come with living a sedentary lifestyle for years or even decades, but there is hope too. They've also suggested that it might not take much of an investment to turn things around, and perhaps it might never be too late to get started in trying to make some effort.

This is encouraging for those who might be in their 50s, 60s, 70s, who think it is too late to get active or to try and start to build muscle etc. Research tells us that this isn't the case and there can be a wide variety of potential benefits that come from engaging in a regularly active lifestyle.

These days it isn't uncommon for people to spend more time staring at a screen than they do going for a walk or being active outdoors etc. Getting hours of daily outdoor time or exposure to greenery is rare for many.

But multiple studies have suggested that it doesn't take much effort to start to turn things around.

One study on the topic from the British Journal of Medicine had previously suggested that as little as 11 minutes of exercise might help to promote longevity. However, there are other warnings that perhaps this isn't enough and that individuals should look to do even more.

It is no secret though that for years researchers have long investigated the links associated with healthy living and pondered what impact an active lifestyle might have overall for the individual. It is surprising to see how little it might take to make some sort of impact, according to what some researchers have already found when looking at sedentary lifestyles vs those engaged in lifestyles with moderate physical activity.

"Any dose of physical activity will be beneficial to human health"

There are many health experts who have for years urged the importance of moving, staying active, trying to build muscle etc, and you will find some who urge that perhaps any activity in general will be beneficial.
