Desde hace un tiempo estoy lidiando con algo que estoy segura de que suele pasarnos a los creadores de contenido.
Tengo algunos meses sin subir vídeos a YouTube, y el motivo es que no tengo espacio en el teléfono. Lo peor es que nada de lo que tengo lo puedo borrar porque son vídeos que aún no subo, mientras que las fotos son material perfecto para mi blog de jardinería El jardín de Zul.
Así que solo dejé de subir vídeos porque no puedo exportar los vídeos que creo. La app no me lo permite por falta de espacio. Sin contar que me ha limitado un montón a la hora de grabar contenido.
Esto es duro, sobre todo cuando tus canales empiezan a ir bien, porque te paraliza.
Por lo que he hecho unas cuantas cosas que quiero compartir contigo, y que estoy segura de que te serán de utilidad.
Pasar todo a una computadora o disco duro externo
No tengo disco duro externo; debo comprar uno. Pero sí tengo una PC. Un poco colapsada, pero resistirá unos cuantos archivos más.
Pasando toda la información a cualquiera de los dos, tienes más espacio.
Borrar los archivos que acumulan espacio y no sirven para nada
Hace poco mi hermana me comentó que hay varias carpetas que crea el teléfono con archivos que solo acumulan espacio y no tienen ninguna utilidad.
Estas carpetas son:
Ir a "Almacenamiento interno", luego a "Android", luego a "Media", y posteriormente ir a "com.whatsapp", después a "WhatsApp", elegir la carpeta ".Shared". Borra el contenido de esta última.
Ir a "Pictured" y elegir la carpeta ".thumbnails". Borrar el contenido de esta última.
Estas carpetas las encuentras en sistemas Android, desconozco el funcionamiento de iOS.
Dejar de ser un acumulador digital
Ok, ok, esto cuesta; sin embargo, seamos honestos: Debes dejar de acumular contenido que no volverás a usar.
También es una nota mental para mí porque tengo mucho contenido que no voy a volver a usar. Como, por ejemplo, los shorts del calendario lunar mensual.
Ese mes ya pasó, ya no volverá, no tiene sentido que lo vuelva a subir, y menos que lo tenga en mi teléfono.
Así que por ello no solo hay que borrar archivos basura, sino también todo aquello que sabemos claramente que no vamos a usar.
Gracias a esto he podido liberar mi teléfono y publicar algunos vídeos
No ha sido sencillo, porque la verdad es que este proceso toma tiempo.
Y creo que el mayor problema al respecto que tengo es que para todo uso mi teléfono; es mi herramienta de trabajo, así que debo hacer malabares para liberar el espacio del teléfono y al mismo tiempo trabajar.
Es parte del trabajo de crear contenido también, no todo es grabar vídeos. Como todo en la vida, tiene sus momentos complejos, pero que se pueden solucionar.

For some time now, I've been dealing with something I'm sure is common for content creators.I haven't uploaded any videos to YouTube in a few months, and the reason is that I don't have enough storage space on my phone. The worst part is that I can't delete anything I have because they're videos I haven't uploaded yet, while the photos are perfect material for my gardening blog Zul's Garden.
So, I only stopped uploading videos because I can't export the ones I create. The app won't let me due to lack of space. Not to mention that it's severely limited my ability to record content.
This is tough, especially when your channels are starting to do well, because it paralyzes you.
So, I've done a few things I want to share with you, and I'm sure you'll find them useful.
Moving everything to a computer or external hard drive
I don't have an external hard drive; I need to buy one. But I do have a PC. It's a bit full, but it will hold a few more files.
Moving all your data to either one will free up space.
Delete files that take up space and serve no purpose
My sister recently told me that there are several folders the phone creates with files that just take up space and are useless.
These folders are:
Go to "Internal Storage", then to "Android", then to "Media", and then to "com.whatsapp", then to "WhatsApp", and select the ".Shared" folder. Delete its contents.
Go to "Pictured" and select the ".thumbnails" folder. Delete its contents.
These folders are found on Android systems; I don't know how they work on iOS.
Stop being a digital hoarder
Okay, okay, this is hard; however, let's be honest: You have to stop accumulating content you'll never use again.
It's also a mental note for me because I have a lot of content I'm not going to use again. Like, for example, the monthly lunar calendar shorts.
That month has already passed, it won't come back, there's no point in uploading it again, much less keeping it on my phone.
So, it's not just about deleting junk files, but also everything we know for sure we're not going to use.
Thanks to this, I've been able to free up space on my phone and publish some videos
It hasn't been easy, because the truth is, this process takes time.
And I think the biggest problem I have is that I use my phone for everything; it's my work tool, so I have to juggle freeing up phone space while also working.
It's part of the job of creating content too; it's not all about recording videos. Like everything in life, it has its complex moments, but these can be resolved.

Low storage space is a problem that gives me headache too because I use android phone for my work. The biggest headache is from "Google play service"; this app takes about 1.8 gigabit of storage space and I don't know how to deal with it. Recently, Facebook has also occupied large space; it’s over 1.5 gigabit. WhatsApp failed to work properly recently; it occupied over 1.4 gigabit. The internal memory of my phone is 32 gigabit; almost all the space is filled. I will appreciate if you guide me to free the space occupied by Google Play service, Facebook and WhatsApp; these are the biggest culprits
In settings, go to "application management", clear the application cache. That helps free up some space.
I have cleared cache for all the apps that take lots of space; in some cases, cache isn't upto 100 mb. I thought there are other options to free up the space
Mi mayor problema es específicamente que soy muy acumulador de screenshots. Desde una receta, un meme, una foto, una imagen, lo que sea, yo le hago screenshot y ahí se queda. Siempre digo que voy a hacer limpieza pero nunca lo hago, y mi carpeta crece y crece. Termino, cuando ya me quedo sin espacios, pasando toda la carpeta para un disco duro externo que tengo y así seguir acumulando más. Y no, nunca hice la receta de aquellas galletas de 4 ingredientes, el screenshot se me perdió entre los demás jajaja. Me gustó leerte, saludosss!!! 🍀🍀🍀

A mi se me ocurrió una idea un poco salvaje con las capturas de pantalla. Las paso a la PC, reviso rápidamente desde la PC.
Lo que es útil lo envió a Telegram (claramente nunca me acuerdo de revisar Telegram jajajajaja), y lo que no lo borro eliminando la carpeta completa.
La primera vez que lo hice sentí que fue una decisión salvaje, pero necesaria.
