1 month ago, in the morning suddenly my dad reminded me it's the month of March, he was asking me about my monthly test results. Then I recalled that it's my bestfriends birhday. But there was a problem, I didn't have money on me and only two days were left. Before, I used to buy readymade gifts for him such as perfumes, watches or something that he needs. But this time I couldn’t do anything because I almost forgot.

All of my money I already used it on something else. I felt sad because I wanted to give him something expensive but I guess luck was not in my favour. So I ended up with the idea of handmade card, also a sketch of him. Below that I wanted to add some memorable messages. To be honest I was planning the handmade card because I at least wanted to give him something so that he won't think that I forgot about his birthday.

So, in the beginning I was very much dedicated. I got everything ready which I needed to draw. Well, I almost forgot how to draw because it's been a year since I drew something. My lines were not going where I wanted it to go and I couldn’t make it perfect which was pretty annoying. For hours and hours I kept trying and erased everything, I ended up laughing at my own art work because of how bad it looked. But at night I had almost finished it.

No matter from which angle I saw my artwork, it didn’t look that good and I wasn't satisfied with my own work. Then I thought "What if I could use AI?"

With curiosity, I began to use a prompt which was also made by AI to create an AI image. In few seconds, I got the result, at first it was not that perfect, but after many trials I got perfect designs. It was very beautiful and clean, they added colors which I was unable to use because I didn’t have them on me. But if I'm being honest then I would say the one AI made looked better than mine.

I had a second thought that maybe I should just print the AI one and give it to him as his birthday present. Because it was faster to make and looked thousands time better.

In a while I looked back at my own art work and realized maybe it's not perfect but it belongs to me these shaky lines are showing my efforts and imperfection. So, my mistakes are the reflection of how much I tried to make it perfect. In conclusion I wanted to use my handmade card.

The special day had arrvied it was 21 March. I was nervous to give him my handmade card but when my bestie saw it, he couldn't stop smiling and said, “Did you start drawing again? I feel so lucky, no one could ever get potraits from you. It was unexpected thanks.” His reactions were so pure it made me emotional.

That day my mind was cleared about technology that even if it makes our life easier but there are some things which are better off without technology.

But it's a useful creation for human beings, because now we can create images as we want, generate professional videos like for ads creation or any kind of work, even we can create unique designs in just few seconds. People used to take lots of time for buildings design but now they are taking the help of AI to save time and cost. Like it doesn’t require deep thinking anymore just right prompt is enough to make it done quickly.

So, technologies like AI is not always a bad thing. To be honest, I will support AI if it's about creating images. Like not everyone has the talent to draw so it's gonna help them express their ideas. People can get new ideas and it's sparing lots of time. But I do not support it when it's about writings like it's completely a different thing.

I'll explain why, because I believe it's a personal thing. Writing is a method by which we share our thoughts. AI can't feel or express, so we can't share our genuine feelings with AI becsuse it was generated. And if we let AI write for us then where is our own opinion or our own voice? We will be slowly losing it without any realization because our creativity will sink with AI.

It's not that I haven't ever used it, I have tried it to write something important. Everything was so perfect with great vocabularies that it didn’t feel real. Because it didn’t sound like me. Then I wrote it again with my own thoughta, it was very simple but at least real. So, it felt really good.

So, I'm not gonna blame technology if we become less creative. Because we are the one choosing it for us, it's not forcing us to get involved. If we are always choosing the easy way which is by using AI, like if every thing, every thinking is done by someone else then what will we do? We would eventually become lazy and stop trying. But creativity needs effort so we can't let it take over us.

We have the control in our hand so let's not blame AI, because we are free to choose when to use technology and when to not. AI could be used for many helpful things such as AI images for ideas, and not completely copying but adding our own touch to it. Taking ideas from AI not ready-made words. Creativity doesn't mean perfection it just has to be real.

I know ease can be quite tempting. As it's faster, saves our precious time. But we should not follow ease all the time, we should try not to lose something important which is joy, it comes from creating something by ourselves.

So an imperfect card means more than a perfect one made in seconds.
