Worlife - A Break from site mid project

avatar

Good day everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa.

So after running myself ragged for 4 weeks, we are now off the vessel for 2-3 days while we wait for other installations to occur and work orders to be processed.

There are some small items that can be attended to but the engineers on site are penny pinching.

One of the engineers we do work for counts every penny and does not want to pay for any time that is wasted while we wait for anything.

The other engineer wants quoted work, which means that if there is a delay that I am waiting for, then I don't make any profit!

Between the two of them, they are really making this unpleasant!

We have a down to earth compressor, meaning it has to come out. What also needs to be replaced when a compressor does this, is to replace the switchgear since that often goes out at the same time.

I also hope that while we are gone, people do not mess up our good work that we have completed.

It is the usual hurry-up and wait scenario.

Once we are going to be able to come to site and do what we must do, the customer will want me to be there Immediately!

And then the moment I am done, I need to be gone again.

Well... I shall do my best to make sure that I do not get stressed out because of this.

I just have to keep my head down and finish the project and make some profit on this job.

Have a safe day's work out there!

Cheers!
@zakludick
