It is very difficult to eradicate mites, I have also experienced this on eggplant and chili plants. I have tried various things but they are still there until now.

They are hard to eliminate for sure.
I tried many things before I learned about the beetles, then I left the whole garden unprotected against pests for a year. By the next year, the predator population had built up to be enough to control many things naturally. Even so, the Spider Mites are still a challenge, especially as out weather here is drying more every year.
