I planted banana trees in the garden and wanted to share how to grow bananas

Choosing a place for planting: You must choose a suitable place place that is not exploited, so that we can benefit from the banana trees

Choose the appropriate types of banana trees for planting to allow sufficient space. Banana plants are, technically, grasses but, they are often confused with trees for a reason. Some species can reach a length although you should check with the source of the banana plant or with local banana growers to get a more accurate estimate or to identify other species

Choose your planting materials. You can use a banana cutting a small sprout from the base of a banana plant from another farmer or a nearby nursery, or you can buy one online

The banana rhizome or “corm” is the basis from which the shoots grow. which are produced in laboratories to manufacture a higher quality fruit crop. If you are planting a mature plant, prepare a hole appropriate to its size

Dig a hole for each plant. Remove the plants growing at the planting site, then dig a wide circular hole 30 cm wide and 30 cm deep larger hole will provide more support for the plant, but you will need more soil.

Place the plant upright in the new soil. The leaves should be pointing upwards and the soil should cover the roots and about from the base

Tamp the soil from the bottom to keep it in place, but do not compact it too hard.

Water frequently but avoid overwatering. Underwatering is a common cause of banana plant death, but overwatering can cause root rot

We grow bananas on the side of the garden because they do not take up a lot of space and they also bear fruit within a year
