The current technical development ideas in the cave/tent living community (2024.07.22)

Currently there are around 20-30 people in this real, physical (cave/tent living) community, and there are some technical development ideas.

1 - The minivan (Nissan Vanette Cargo) (the community vehicle) (currently not working):

  • Fixing it, and taking it to the technical examination (the community leader did not find a mechanic in one month, who would do it) ~ €800 EUR.

  • Or taking it out of traffic, and moving it to a car disassembler for free (in this case everyone lose every money he/she put into the car so far).

2 - The community place:

  • Installing new, thick, copper wires from the solar panels to the charging controller, ~ €600 EUR.
  • New, 12 Volt battery (one, which would fit into an electric wheelchair), 80 Ah, €400 EUR.
  • Tools, tool handles.
  • Building a camera system, around €200 EUR and €600 EUR.
  • Fixing the big water container.

3 - The party place

  • Making a new 230 Volt 2.5 mm2 power supply cable from the distant generator to the switch table (the projector could be connected to this), ~ 250 EUR.
  • Buying and transporting another freezer, ~ €100 EUR.
  • 2200 Watt sinus wave inverter, which would power the freezer in daylight, ~ €120 EUR from AliExpress, at least one month, ~400 EUR from the shelf in Leroy Merlin, if it is currently available.

The community soon will discuss these ideas, and other ideas too, if there will be additional ideas.

In July and in August, yes.
The temperature is often above 30 °C.
The hottest month is August.

The temperature can go down to around 15 °C in the winter (usually December and January).

Other places on the island have different climates.

For example on the Teide mountain, the temperature can go down below 0 °C, and there could be snowfall on the top of it in the winter.

And the north part of the island is generally colder, and wet (rains are relatively frequent).
