I tried the AI-Powered Image Generation on PeakD for the first time (2024.11.29)
PeakD (@peakd) recently started to offer AI-Powered Image Generation for micropayments (Hive Dollars) (HBD).
Today dawn I tried out.
I paid $0.055 HBD for @peak.pay for generating the imagine below with the following properties (different models have different prices for generating images):
Model: Flux 1.1 Pro (BFL).
Aspect ratio: 16:9.
Prompt: A landscape with yellow flowers, and blue animals on it, with mountains and a forest in the distance.
The image has been successfully generated, and I like it.
But somehow I could not save the image.
I touched multiple times both the "download image" and the "copy image" buttons too, and I tried to rotating my smartphone, also multiple times, but nothing happened.
Probably this is some kind of bug.
I used the Keychain browser on my Motorola Moto G22 (Android 12) smartphone.
So I simply took a screenshot of the image.
Either way, apart from the bug, I like the service, even though there are free AI image generator alternatives.
I would rate it 9/10 because of the bug.
I published this post from Ecency, my favorite Hive blockchain application.
I very much like PeakD too.
Especially for their informative application.
For example the Dashboard and the Wallet.
USD 0.05 for an image. I am not sure if that's expensive or cheap. Haven't used any of the paid AI gen application yet.
Also I would like to know how complex prompt can we provide and how detailed image the app can be generated. Because the prompt seems to be simple. Just my opinion. 😅
Cheers♥️☮️
I intentionally used a simple prompt only to test it.
Different models can handle different level of prompt complexity (they can generate more or less realistic images).
And they have different prices too.
Not all of them costs $0.05 HBD.
There are cheaper, and more expensive models too.
You can read more about this on PeakD.
I just saw this before posting and thought I should give it a try sometimes. The photo looks good, will try it.
There are different available models.
Both cheaper models, and more expensive models too.
And of course there are free alternatives too.
I will try it. Thanks for sharing.
I don't think they should be charging for that as you can find plenty of places where you can generate free images
Here's a small tip 👍🏾 @tipu curate
Upvoted 👌 (Mana: 0/50) Liquid rewards.
I know that there are free alternatives. I even mentioned it in the post too. I just tried it out to see how it works.
This is just another way for them to take money 💰
It won't do anything for Hive 😁
I think some of the big shots on HIVE downvote AI-generated content (post). And here, one of the biggest front ends is offering AI-generated image sales!
Pretty interesting!
It is completely okay to use AI generated images on Hive.
PeakD mentions in their post that "You own the rights to any image you generate.
Images can be used for personal or commercial purposes".
So you own, and you can use the generated images to earn money with them.
This can be found both in their above mentioned post, and in their Terms of Service too.
And in their above mentioned post, PeakD even encourage people to post the AI generated images on Snaps.
And they mention the C/AI Images community too.
So there is a concrete Hive community too for AI generated images.
And PeakD also encourage people to "Dive deeper with content that contains tutorials, comparisons, and collections. Share or learn from others".
Thanks for reporting on the Download/Copy buttons on mobile that is a bug.
The places offering image generation for free are doing so because they are either hoping to make money off you by hoping you pay for a subscription or still making money off of you in some way. Or they're giving you access to the cheaper image models getting you interested in the ones that are expensive to run. We'll keep thinking through some of these options.
