Fresh from Dubai: Is There a Copycat Version of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra?

avatar

Before I start to introduce and review my experiences with this phone, let me tell you a back story about how I was able to have this.

My sister worked in one of the hotels in Dubai, UAE. She got there with the help of our mother. She stayed and worked there for 1 year, but because of the accident that happened, she needed to come home here 6 months ago.

Aside from my mental health issues, my Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G that I bought with my own hard work through blogging many years ago was stolen by someone when I was riding the bus way back home. Well, it was also my fault that it happened because I didn’t keep it in my bag and fell asleep during my trip home. That's why it was very tough for me to get back here. That phone was my biggest "Multo" (if you know that famous song, you know what I mean here). Because I work hard just to buy that phone and also, that phone is one of the best models in the Samsung Galaxy A series for me because of the quality of the camera, battery last for almost a day, and the performance is almost 100/10 aside from their Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime that my first expensive phone before. There are pictures on that phone that I can’t let go of. My mistake was not transferring them to my Xiaomi Pad 5 as a backup for those important files—if only I had predicted that such an accident would happen to me. Maybe that accident was life’s way of teaching me to always keep my phone in my bag and never ever take it out on public transportation.

Anyway, back to the story time when my sister just got home from Dubai. Before my sister went home, my mom bought me a phone. It was worth 193.34 AED, or Php 3,000.00 in pesos, for that phone, and she bought it online live. You know what? At first, I scolded my mom because she bought a phone online, and what’s worse, it turned out to be a copycat phone. She didn't tell me that she has plans of buying a phone for me, and if only I had known it, I would have just gotten the budget, and I would have been the one who would have recommended some budget-friendly phones that are close to her budget.

It's not that I am ungrateful for what she did. I mean, I don't know if she will have just wasted her money because we don't know if the phone will last longer. Because we are also not familiar with the brand. We are not familiar with this kind of phone model. If it's really worth its price and so on.
Because, in my opinion, when I buy a phone, I’d rather invest in a brand that’s proven itself over the years and has never let us down. Its quality, durability, and performance won’t disappoint me and should last for many years, not just one. After all, the price of phones is no joke—especially if you’ve worked hard for it, saved your allowance for a year, or even if it’s just a gift from your parents, right? Personally, I don’t mind going for a lower-priced unit in the ₱6,000.00 range, as long as its performance matches some of the high-end models out there. Who cares if your phone is only worth four digits?

But what can I do? It's been 6 months. I can't do anything about it and just use this phone that my mom gave me. Of course.

And because of that, I decided to write a gadget review about this phone. From my own experience, here are my thoughts on this phone. Just sharing what I can as someone who isn’t really a tech blogger. So, let's start!

Introducing ATFLY's S24 ULTRA 5G

IMG_20250814_233318.jpg

I know, I know, and I know that the first thing that you have noticed is the design of this phone. It was slightly similar to the S24 Ultra of the famous brand, Samsung. Which is also the original owner of this design model of the phone and worth Php 68,000-70,000+ pesos as of now.

I'm sorry if that's how the phone looked when I introduced it to you. I cleaned it, but the back case is just a matte finish, and it will really show signs of fingerprints.

Looking at this phone, what are you thinking right now? Do you have high expectations for this phone, or do you think that because of its price, it won’t have good quality or be very useful?

MY RANDOM THOUGHTS ABOUT THE DESIGN AND DISPLAY OF THIS PHONE

COLOR

For me the cons of having a phone like this—with a titanium matte finish on the back casing—aren’t really my thing, because as you can see in the photos I uploaded above, fingerprints are very noticeable, especially if the color is black. However, we also have a pro of choosing this kind of design because it is not slippable, so even if you don't put a phone case, it will not slip in your hand. Just avoid the color black and choose the other light colors instead.

DIMENSIONS AND DISPLAY

I don't have a problem with the size of this phone. But! This phone feels quite heavy in my hand—maybe because it’s made of titanium, though I’m not entirely sure. But the height maybe it just looks big, but when you see it in person, it just fits in your hand, especially when you play games in a horizontal phone position.

STORAGE AND RAM

What I have is the 6 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM variant, and I’m not sure if it’s the same as the 128 GB ROM version. What I mean is that aside from the larger storage, there might be additional perks that come with the higher capacity. But according to my research, the 128 GB has a better display with HD+ than this 64 GB variant. Aside from that, the 128 GB variant has much better camera performance compared to this 64 GB version.

In my experience, having just 6 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM on this phone has been a problem—mainly because I play games. Since I no longer have my Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G, which I usually used for playing Mobile Legends, COD-M, Honor of Kings, and Roblox, I expected I could play on this phone too. But honestly, where was my common sense? This is just a lower-tier phone, and I shouldn’t have expected too much from it, given the limited storage.

I can only download Facebook, Messenger, TikTok, and other apps that we usually use. But games? I tried to download the HOK and COD-M, but they have bigger storage needs. I uninstalled my TikTok and downloaded Mobile Legends, and I am glad because after the update, I am able to play. But when I installed my TikTok again, even if I had my Mobile Legends app, I experienced lag while playing.

I know that phones with small storage tend to lag when you play games. But if we compare it to my Vivo Y11, which only has 3 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM that I purchased 6 years ago, that is more durable storage and performance than this, which has bigger storage. My grandma, who uses that phone now, experiences lag after 3 years of usage (because I gave it to her when I bought my Samsung), because some apps that were installed there have bigger storage needs. I also think that if you buy an SD card and move the files from the phone’s internal storage, the phone can still be usable in the long run. But this phone considering the performance in storage, especially that you just used it for only four months? hmmm? 🤔

BATTERY

One of the things that I was looking for when buying phones was the battery performance. I like phones that have a longer battery life and everyday use. Like, you don't need to charge it 3-4 times a day because you can use it even when you are outside the house, and you won't be problematic if your phone is at a low battery. I don't know if there are still Android phones that drain the battery easily because right now, new release gadgets have improvements now, but I am not sure about this phone when my mom bought it.

Now I can say that what really fuels my growing interest in this phone is it's battery performance. In my first months of using it, I expected the battery performance of this phone to be like those of Android phones back in the peak years of touchscreen devices. But I was wrong. Based on my experience, I can use this phone for a whole day. Even when I don’t actively use it—with mobile data left on—the battery holds up well. For example, when it was at 48% at night, I checked it the next morning, and it was still at 37%.

This phone has 5000 mAh. I think. If we compare it to the high-end phones that have the same battery capacity, this phone has the best description and performance of the real 5000 mAh. With other high-end phones, they often claim to have 5000 mAh batteries and longer battery life usage and can be used for 1 day, but in reality, they only last about 8–12 hours of use. In contrast, this phone’s battery is strong enough to handle social media activities all day. It's just sad because you can't use it for playing different games because of its storage performance.

CONNECTIVITY

  • BLUETOOTH

One of the things that surprised me about this phone is its Bluetooth tethering feature. There was a time when I wanted to connect my Xiaomi Pad 5 hotspot to this phone, but at first, I didn’t really understand how the settings worked. Since it was new, my Wi-Fi hotspot couldn’t detect other devices—or maybe I just hadn’t researched enough about how to connect it. Then I noticed the Bluetooth hotspot option, tried it, and to my surprise, it actually worked!

Forgive me if I sound a bit dramatic here; it’s just that this is my first time using Bluetooth as a hotspot for other devices. We usually get used to using the hotspot icon on our phone to connect to other devices, right? I just found it so cool considering the price of this phone~ 🙈

  • HEADPHONE JACK PORT
Aside from how the Bluetooth works on this phone, this is also my first time seeing a headphone jack with a Type-C design. I’m not an expert on this, and I’m not even sure if I should still call it that, since the headphone jack is designed as a Type-C port.

Well, maybe I am just getting used to old headphone jack designs; that's why I am amazed by the design of the free headphones of this phone. About the sound, I couldn't give any feedback about it because I never tried using it.

Other amazing things I discovered about this phone, even though it only costs Php 3,000.

This is my first time seeing a phone under 5,000 pesos that has an in-display fingerprint security feature. Imagine—for only 3,000 PHP, you already get a phone with an in-display fingerprint sensor. I know that the other known brands also have their budget-friendly phones that allow fingerprints, but they cost more than this phone.
Aside from this, there are other options to secure your phone, such as Face Unlock. That you can use face detection to unlock your phone.
It also has a smart lock that can recognize when: Your device is being carried,You're near home or another trusted place, Your watch or another trusted device is nearby.

CAMERA

This phone has 20 MP, 8MP, 5MP Rear Camera and 5 MP, 3MP, 2MP Front Camera. Video Quality: 1080P, 720P.

For the price of this phone, I didn’t expect much from its camera quality. But I admit, I asked my older sister when she was still in Dubai about how the camera was, hoping that even though this is a low-budget phone, it would still have a decent camera I could use for photography. But when it arrived, I was disappointed because I was right. The camera on this phone is okay, but it's not that clear. What do we expect? But I think the 20 MP rear camera isn't true because if we compare it to my Vivo Y11 before, which had only 13 MP, the camera is much better, and it's still good even if it's been used for years compared to this phone that has 20 MP but didn't do the right job.

Here are the sample shots using this phone's camera:

It's not like the other brand's phone camera, considering that the camera specs say that it has 20 MP. However, for me, this phone camera looks like it is old. Like the typical Android phone cameras back when touchscreen phones were still new in the market.

And if you compare the camera, it may not match the phone cameras of other brands, but it has the potential to perform like a digital camera from higher-end brands like Nikon, Samsung, or Olympus—especially when you use the flash. I’ve noticed digicam users selling their cameras on social media marketplaces, and I’ve seen some photo samples. The quality of those photos looks somewhat similar to this phone’s camera—especially since it has that vintage vibe. Am I right?

My Final Thoughts about this phone?

In my opinion, considering the price of this phone, I know that some of its features might not actually be real. I’ve also seen some ads on my social media with phones that look exactly like this Atfly model, just under different brand names.

IMG_20250814_173109.jpg

I keep wondering why this phone looks like the original Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and even runs a system similar to an Asus phone. But when I read the description on the box, it said, ‘Recycle or dispose of properly.’ That made me think this phone was recycled. I also suspect that big phone companies sell or dispose of their defective units to smaller tech brands, who then recycle and fix them to be sold again as new phones.

That’s why some phones sold in other countries look like popular models and are often labeled as fakes or clones—but in reality, they’re just recycled units that have been fixed, refurbished, and sold as brand-new phones.

But you know what? There are pros and cons of buying a phone like this.

PROS:

This phone is a budget-friendly phone, and considering the price of this unit, you can already have a phone that has a feature the same as the other high-end phones. The performance of this phone is good enough for its price, from battery to durability, and you can also draw because it has a stylus pen.

CONS:

Even if there are some pros like that of this phone, I don't really trust this phone much even if I used it for 4 months because we can't install some e-wallets and share other important documents because this phone was based on the other countries. Forgive me, but I don't really trust it, especially since it was my first time having this kind of phone from other countries.

The last thing that I like about this phone is the durability.

IMG_20250820_212250.jpg

I was impressed that this phone is still fine even if I accidentally dropped it on the floor almost too many times because of my clumsiness. The screen protector is doing its job to protect the screen, and the body never had any scratches on body parts or even broke. It also didn't affect the performance of this phone.

That's all I can share with you about this phone for now. Next time, I’ll write a review about this phone’s gaming performance and also try out its stylus pen~ ❤️

You might be wondering why the date in the picture above is August 14. Well, it’s because I’ve been writing this blog since that day~ 😆 Hahaha

Ehhhh, the appearance really looks like it, grabi din talaga mga china phones no, kagagaling nila gayahin though super different naman ng OS nila. I Think this is also good na rin as spare phone. For calls, text and browsing online. And ang sweet pa rin ni maderbels mo for doing that, though she's really not good at choosing, pero as she see you using it naman, i'm sure happy pa rin sha haha. Next mo na yon iPhoneeeeee haha, patingin gaanon kaganda at baka ako'y makabili na next life 🥴😂😂🤧🤧
