Vitamin E: Is it Essential for the Body?

source Edited with Canva

Since childhood I have been taught about vitamins and their uses for the body, of the many types of vitamins there are some that I commonly hear, namely Vitamin C and Vitamin E. I have explained about vitamin C in a previous post, essential vitamins that are easy to find because they are sold in tablet form chew and fresh drinks.

In this post, I will inform you about vitamins that I know are very important for skin health, vitamins are available in several skincare products because one of the benefits is to maintain skin moisture, the vitamin I mean is Vitamin E.

About Vitamin E

Actually, there are many other benefits of vitamin E, but the first time I learned about this vitamin was when I saw on the packaging of skin health products that highlighted Vitamin E as an important substance for keeping skin healthy and repairing damaged skin cells due to the harmful effects of free radicals.

Vitamin E is an essential vitamin that is considered important for maintaining a healthy body, some of the benefits provided by this vitamin such as boosting the immune system, and keeping cells in good shape by repairing damaged body cells. One of the benefits that I feel using vitamin E supplements is that the acne that grows on my face starts to disappear, the scars also disappear quickly, and the black spots caused by acne slowly disappear, making my facial skin look bright and clean.

Some food sources that contain lots of vitamin E include mangoes, avocados, kiwis, and several other fruits, we can also make it into juice by mixing some fruits that are high in vitamins so that it will make it easier for us to meet our intake of vitamin E without fear of lack. Those who don't like fruit can meet their intake of vitamin E and other nutrients by consuming fish like salmon, tuna, and shrimp, or those who are allergic to sea foods can consume chicken or beef. Foods like chicken, eggs, or beef are rich in nutrients and complex vitamins needed by the body, so if we have fulfilled our nutritional needs from whole foods, we no longer need to use supplements, unless we feel that we are lacking in nutrition from food, we can increase our intake from supplements.

In my head I associate vitamin E with almonds. It's my go-to source: unlike fruits and meats, it doesn't really spoil or take a lot of space, so it's very convenient. Just a handful - 30 grams - of almonds gives you 50% of the vitamin E you need for the day. And you get some essential omega 6s while you're at it.
