Pre-Workout: Is it Essential for the Body?

Many people are now starting to pay attention to their health, I feel the same way because as we get older, we have to maintain our health to avoid illness and extend our life span by adopting a healthy lifestyle as the most important thing.

The majority of people do exercise as a necessity of life to maintain health, and many have made exercise a lifestyle, as can be seen from the many sports influencers that have appeared on the internet providing beneficial information for those who want to be healthy by exercising and maintaining a healthy diet. Because of this, many sports support supplements have emerged as additional intakes to support recovery or increase stamina during exercise.

In this post, I will discuss one of the supplements that are widely used today, especially for weightlifting and bodybuilding activists, the supplement is Pre-Workout. This supplement is specifically designed to be used before exercising or lifting weights. The purpose of the pre-workout supplement is to provide additional energy and stamina and increase focus during exercise, which will make the exercise perform more optimally.

My Previous Post about amino acids, suplement and related information:

About Pre-Workout

Pre-Workout is a supplement that contains formulations of essential ingredients that can help increase energy, increase strength, and help stimulate muscle growth during exercise. I use this supplement myself because it contains caffeine, which is suitable for me to consume because I can feel the benefits right away, one of the things I quickly feel is a more focused mind and increased stamina when lifting heavy weights at the gym.

When I don't have money, I drink black coffee without sugar two or three hours before training as a substitute for pre-workout because both contain caffeine, and both have more or less the same benefits, but in pre-workout several other components are not in coffee, because it is a supplement. It is made with additional substances like creatine, beta-alanine, vitamin B, and other essential substances. The benefits that people look for when using pre-workout, apart from increasing stamina, can also help stimulate fat burning and increase protein synthesis in the body. Those who are not used to the caffeine content will feel dizzy, flatulence, anxiety, and shortness of breath the first time they consume pre-workout, just like drinking high-caffeine coffee. It's a good idea to consult a doctor or medical expert before using this pre-workout supplement so that side effects don't occur or can be prevented before using it.

As additional information, it's also a good idea before deciding to buy pre-workout supplements to try to do product research first, because there are many types of pre-workout on the market with various good brands. Choose one that is quality and has a guaranteed brand.

Read the composition and sugar content on the package first. Choose the one with a low sugar content because if it is high in sugar, the calories contained are large, and this can later affect daily calorie intake. Sugar is an easy source of energy but does not contain nutrients, so choose a pre-workout that has essential ingredients like caffeine, beta-alanine, and creatine monohydrate, and is low in sugar.

Final Thought

Pre-workout is one of the supporting supplements for sports enthusiasts or athletes who want to get additional energy while exercising, but this is not primary. Don't use supplements as your main fuel for training, fulfill your calorie intake with healthy, high-protein, low-process foods is the main thing. After that, you can use supplements as additional nutritional intake.

So most people take pre-workout supplement before going into strenuous exercises while most of us follow them to do that same exercise and feel like the world is on us. Wow!!! Thanks for the eye opener.

Reason why I tell people to workout at their pace and focus on what they want to achieve and not what someone close to you is doing.

But come to think of it health wise, too much caffeine tends to affect the heart and pose high risk for heart disease. It's advisable you take caffeine with caution. Train at your pace and also guide your heart with anything possible. Thank you once again for this eye opener 🙌🙌🙌
