RE: What is an ice spike and why are there two of them in my watering tub?

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

Personally I think they are an expression of the energy they want to share -art- I don’t have the vocabulary to describe the concept, but that’s as close as I can get.
Particularly the first one, it’s like a burst of energy, like the spring coming, the trees awakening. It’s how I feel when you see the new growth unfurling. Maybe it’s bursting with joy and excitement?

And the second one feels like speed, the lines inside express movement to me, could also be excited or “dancing “

Or like you suggested maybe it’s the movement of the stars or something else we humans are not aware of

This is where I’m used to people saying “yes dear” and politely changing the subject, because they think I’m bonkers

But I hope you understand what I’m attempting to say

Have you read Terry Pratchett's witches?
There's a scene where they go to break someone out of a dungeon in a castle
One of them puts her energy into the ancient oak door, reminding it of all the springs it has missed, and it bursts into life; coincidentally opening the door.
Granny Weatherwax says something about the Stones being harder to reach but good if you can get through to them...

I think your two spikes are maybe representing the leaves/trees, and the rocks, waking up for the new year?

I most certainly do understand.

My weekly conversation with my mother goes a lot like this.

Thank you for your ideas. Speed is one i hadn't considered. Could be my 'hurry up Spring!' thoughts.
