Wow. I really fell into something fascinating this week. This is from a patent referenced by a filer in 1975.

I love using sound to help me get to sleep so when I discovered something new Monday night I started seeing things pertaining to this new sound in my stream the very next day. I spent about a day and a half watching videos on this. All of them seemed to be in favor of this new technique.

But then I came across one video made by a guy who claimed the patent information on that device made it look like there could be control asserted. In my attempt to find more information on this, the patent reference section caught my attention. Then The date.

I read through this document filed by a man who wanted to help people in the late forties feel less to no pain at all after dental drilling. I knew deaf people could not hear but I never gave a thought as to why. After reading patent number 2,466,054 I was fascinated.

I still am not sure what it is in the human body that causes the inability to hear but I feel it certainly gives a little more perspective about sound and vibration.

I never really thought to look into patents to find ideas for stories but I think now I may give more attention. There is quite a bit of detail that can be garnered from just a thought.

If you have read this far, I thank you. I know this is a bit of a short read but I am always working on making it a little longer every time. I look forward to engaging with you in the comments.

There are many factors behind why someones hearing might not work like could be due to age-related hearing loss, exposure to loud noises, ear infections or even genetic predispositions.

These are just a few examples. It would be interesting to find out how these examples effect precisely what part of the body and how. I am sure the information is out there.
