Yellow yellow, dirty fellow? Bird equivalents of Jim Carrey in 'The Mask' 🤣

Never though Yellow would be such a bright spark in nature!

Wildlife photography is often about noticing unusual beauty in subjects. I am not particularly fond of the color yellow, personally.

I usually do not wear yellow because it makes me feel like the 'Mask'!!

However, when I see these pretty yellow birds, contrasting with the serene green of the foliage, it is almost like seeing a spark of Sun ...

On top of that, when I see the aptly names 'Black hooded oriole' , I really remember 'The Mask'

I had the opportunity to see this striking bird and click it recently. Here is a closeup showing it's blazing yellow color

I also got to see it in a very pretty pose - as if it was waiting for me to click, posing like a flamboyant model...

Other sub-species of orioles do not have this striking color. For example, I clicked this golden oriole having a caterpillar meal, but it does not look as striking in yellow.

I do not think it is about the shade of yellow. I think it is something about a contrasting combination of black and yellow that makes the Black hooded oriole look attractive.

A Common Iora bird too, has a pretty combination of black and yellow. I had the opportunity to click it too. Here, are couple of clicks

Perhaps it is just my bias on the color yellow! Sometimes I feel these birds remind of Jim Carrey in 'The Mask' and sometimes I feel that they are beautiful sparks of sunshine on earth 😀

What do you think personally? I loved seeing these yellow birds and made an effort to get them on my camera. Do you think it was worth it? Have you attempted or would you attempt anything like this in photography? If so, please share your experience in comments.

Please comment freely and let me know your opinion. I will try to bring many different types of wildlife photos/macro/Astro posts to the community. Feedback and comments are welcome,. I am still learning many techniques and always value feedback from experts in this community.

Have a nice day everyone. Cheers!
