Fun with collisions: 😎 ART - Ever seen Wine dance in a glass? High-speed macro photography

They say people dance when they get high on wine... I think the wine is already high by itself. See it dance on it's own in the glass.

It was a rainy day here and I decided to experiment more with my Water drop collision splash art photography. Wanted to see if I could make the wine dance in a glass... πŸ˜€

Here is what it looked like..

With my DIY Water drop kit which has solenoid controls and an Arduino Uno controlling it, which I described in my post Fun with Collisions πŸ˜€ : High speed macro photography of colliding water drops, I have been adding more complexity and controls through the Arduino programming and adding hardware. Now, I have two solenoids with controls which are controlled by the complex Arduino program which I have written which allows me to time the drops with precision and also control the timing of flash and camera shutter automatically..

The program took me some time to develop and looks something like this..

Just look at the complexity of the variables and formulas needed ... 😱

It took a long time but in the end, I think it was worth it because I could produce following wonderful images...

A spinning, sparkling wheel or a 'Chakra' ...

I started off wuth just plain water in the beginning to check functionality of new program and the two solenoid DIY system it created this stunning wheel image.

A dance pose of the wine...

This was just awesome. Liquid can take some freeform shapes and no two clicks are same. I love this one which looks like a dancing person. The 'spirit' dancing ...

A blooming flower of wine...

The first drop falling creates a tall rebound column of liquid from the wine glass and the second drop collides with it to create this lovely umbrella shaped flower...

Sometimes the wine dances so hard that it loses it's head (umbrella)...

In this instance, the rebound was so powerful that a drop of liquid separated from the column and collided with the next falling drop. Looks like the umbrella flew off ....

Levitating Chakra miracle - perhaps the liquid is 'ambrosia of Gods' !

I do not even know what exactly happened with the liquid and drop sequence but I got this stunning image of a levitating circle of liquid above the glass...

Black and While also looks majestic

I sure had lot of fun capturing these images because I had to teach myself so many things in the process...

Do you think they turned out well? Was all the effort worth it? Have you tried something like this? I look forward to suggestions and shared experiences from our expert community members.

Please comment freely and let me know your opinion. I will try to bring many different types of wildlife photos/macro/Astro posts to the community. Feedback and comments are welcome,. I am still learning many techniques and always value feedback from experts in this community.

Have a nice day everyone. Cheers!
