Feeling free....
In a completely sane world, madness is the only freedom. – J. G. Ballard
Yes - that is true. We need to express ourselves by doing some far out thing to feel free.
If we are stuck in a rut of life, with mundane activities, day after day - would we feel free? Even though no one probably compels us for those activities, we do not really have the freedom to abandon them and live freely.
So - every once in a while, when we feel tied down, we need to do one mad crazy thing and live in that moment - feeling totally free!!
This is what I think this jungle bush quail I saw was doing...
Quails, though they are active in Rainy season, seldom venture out when it is actually raining. They forage around in bushes all day and mostly stay hidden under leaves when it rains. This one jungle bush quail though, looked like it got tired of being 'tied to the ground' 😀
It climbed a small projection of land and enjoyed the falling rain drops. Sounding off once in a while, it seemed to be saying "I am the King of the world.."
I am sure it felt totally free in the wild moment in the rain.
By contrast, this Red rumped sparrow looks pretty gloomy and somehow, does not seem to convey freedom at all - though it is also sitting in rain and is looking pretty...
Therefore, my click of the Jungle bush quail is my favorite pic showing a free bird and hence is my entry for #SMaP 138 contest. Here is the picture in it's original form...

Quail are elusive one hears but seldom sees them out in the open, excellent capture being free of the undergrowth.

@joanstewart Yes - quails are very difficult to photograph. It took some luck and a lot of patience to get this click. Had to sit and observe for 2 hours almost !! 😀
Patience game is half the fun wishing them out in the open.
