Visitar el campo es una de mis terapias favoritas, ya que me ayuda a liberar el estrés, recargar energías y disfrutar del hermoso entorno. La zona se encuentra a pocos minutos de Cumaná y las vistas son realmente increíbles. Today, I am sharing my outing to the beach and the countryside, where I admired a beautiful grassy landscape overlooking the hills. I also came across a plant that caught my eye due to the shape of its leaves and its distinctive pink flowers.
Visiting the countryside is one of my favorite forms of therapy, as it helps me relieve stress, recharge my energy, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The area is located just a few minutes from Cumaná, and the views are truly incredible. Since the rainy season has begun, the landscape has turned lush and green, and the trees look vibrant. While walking, I noticed a green plant that turned out to be beach purslane. As I walked further and looked around, the views were spectacular; there was also a type of green grass with leaves resembling those of a pine tree—its intense green hue added color and a touch of magic to the landscape. Nature always surprises us, and it is a joy to experience its gifts and wonders, such as the sound of water, the singing of birds, and the fresh country breeze—one of my favorite things for breathing in pure air.
Tras explorar el campo, descubrí el nombre de la planta: Verdolaga de playa. Lo que más me sorprendió fue que, además de verla cerca de la colina, también la encontré en la playa mientras nos dirigíamos a la zona de Caigüire; sin duda, es una planta llamativa, gracias al aspecto de sus hojas y al color de sus flores.
La fotografía muestra parte del capullo y la hermosa flor rosa. Ya había visto una planta similar, pero desconocía su nombre. Lo que inicialmente me llamó la atención fue el grosor de las hojas y los capullos, así como la llamativa flor, de un color precioso y con un centro formado por varios pistilos.
La verdolaga de playa Sesuvium portulacastrum es una suculenta halófita común en zonas costeras. Es una hierba perenne rastrera con hojas carnosas, verdes y brillantes, y tallos que a menudo se tornan rojizos cuando se exponen a la luz intensa.

After exploring the countryside, I learned the plant's name: Sea Purslane (Verdolaga de Playa). What surprised me most was that, in addition to seeing it near the hill, I also spotted it on the beach as we headed toward the Caigüire area; it is certainly an eye-catching plant, thanks to the appearance of its leaves and the color of its flowers.
The photograph shows part of the bud and the beautiful pink flower. I had seen a similar plant before but didn't know its name. What initially caught my attention was the thickness of the leaves and buds, as well as the striking flower—beautifully colored with a center formed by several pistils.
Sea Purslane Sesuvium portulacastrum, a halophytic succulent common in coastal areas. It is a creeping perennial herb with fleshy, glossy green leaves and often reddish stems when exposed to strong light.
