HIVE is the best social media blockchain on the planet at the moment when you consider all the elements that is necessary for the task (including a strong community). The price has not historically represented this potential and fundamentals for many years. We are more than 90% down from our All Time High of $8.19 (data from @coingecko). The good news is that charts are looking great in Technical Analysis.

There are many good things about this chart. I don't have a very long experience with Technical Analysis. But this is not a chart that require an expert to realize as a bullish chart. Read this Investopedia article and see if you notice some similarity and come up with potential targets for $HIVE. Below is an image from the article:

Keep in mind that we are 42 days away from BTC Halving. We already have a new ATH for $BTC and the current market conditions are very different from what we had experienced since the birth of cryptosphere. We have experienced recessions (two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth) all around the world and for the first time, institutional investors have easy access to buy and sell cryptocurrency. I expect some serious euphoria when ETFs move beyond the boring BTC and embrace $ETH and other smart contract cryptocurrencies.

Quantum Computing Can Be The Next Big Thing

There are many moves made by large players in the technology space that are moving towards quantum resistant cryptography. The quantum computers we currently have are very limited in what they can do. They cannot even operate for long amounts of time. These technologies are being developed fast with billions of dollars in funding every year. Retail user will not be using any quantum computers for a long time. Governments and Big Tech on the other hand should be able to have quantum computers that are good enough to break most of the encryption we are using today.

Most of the content on HIVE is explicitly meant to be public. What we have is a social media blockchain. What could be a problem is accounts getting hacked because NSA figured out the private keys to some of the whale accounts and used it to attack the blockchain. Encrypted memos on the other hand are meant to be private and they are going to be stored on the blockchain for a long time. @leofinance team is working to create subscriber only blogs that are likely going to be stored on HIVE. I don't expect these to be on top of the list of anyone looking to use quantum computing maliciously. That is not a reason to slack off.

Store Now; Decrypt Later is the biggest threat we have at the moment. Governments know that they will eventually get their hands on quantum computers and they are storing as much data as they can do decrypt at a later date. Anyone interested in their privacy should be worried about this. There are many smart individuals who are working on post quantum cryptography. HIVE can watch on the sidelines and implement the best innovations they come up with.

Being Ready is Important!

Using Tor or Lokinet to watch some trailer on YouTube is overkill. Trying to use post quantum cryptography for everything on HIVE is likely a resource consumption that will not justify the added security it brings. Most cryptocurrency project are not using post quantum cryptography likely due to this exact reason. Things can change in a few years. We need to have a plan for that time. We must have tests conducted and have the technology ready for HIVE to hard fork into a quantum resistant future.

Take it slow. We may have many years left till we have to make these changes on HIVE. Embracing post quantum cryptography for private data on the other hand has been long overdue IMHO. There is no point in overthinking about that. What we can do is to make progress and built a safer, better and more private future.
