The best part of the deciphering of the IVC script is that we at least know what happened to the IVC people and we also know where they come from. The deciphered text is has Pāṇini grammer (sometimes dubbed as the father of linguistics). His work Aṣṭādhyāyī s conventionally taken to mark the start of Classical Sanskrit. What existed before was Vedic Sanskirt. IVC seals refer to Vedic deities or quotes from the Vedas (mostly Rig Veda). This is similar to how people use Bible quotes today.
In short Indus Valley inhabitants were Vedic people and when their civilization was brought down by long monsoon failure (most likely scenario), the IVC inhabitants created rest of the Hindu culture. There are many Hindu practices that can be linked to IVC period which itself can be linked to Vedic period.
This is the engineer who managed to decipher IVC script and produced a 99 page research paper: https://x.com/yajnadevam
