I Was Invited To A Multi Blockchain Gaming Guild | Marketing, HIVE and Splintertalk
I recently got an invite to join a @splinterlands Guild. I spend most of my time in Diamond League and I am Dolphin sized investor in the game. It makes sense that Guilds would be sending invites to players like me. Although I have zero intentions of leaving Roaring Twenties (which I have been a part of since inception and is full of great people who I share many values with), getting an invite from a Guild that is focused on multiple blockchains and games made me very happy about the state of @splinterlands.
More players coming from outside of HIVE and creating Guilds is a very positive sign for the future. When a Guild joins HIVE, they are arriving with many players who are ready to invest and play for the long term (or at least medium term). Onboarding Guilds has the added benefit of creating better engagement for the social media aspects of HIVE.
I checked out the invitation soon after I saw it. This is a good team that has been active for 2 years. For comparison, these are the stats for Roaring Twenties:
I'm grateful for the invite. But there are absolutely zero reasons for me to give up on the Guild that I have been a part of for almost 5 years! Everything is great the way things already are. That is not going to be the story for many others. There will be many players who will gladly accept and invitation like such as this:
Absalom is Free Marketing
The Guild has their own website where they explicitly state that they are open to new members. Mos of the marketing images are taken from @splinterlands and we have the incredible art team to congratulate for their job. If the art team didn't create high quality 2D art that people are happy to showcase, it will have been another missed opportunity for marketing.
More Details About The Founder
Little additions happening on a large scale can create a massive splash. Absalom is merely one Guild that I got to know about. Yield Guild Games is the big Whales among the Guilds I have learned about it Web 3. I had to scroll down to see them feature @splinterlands in their website. At lest some representation is good and lead to more players and better brand awareness.
Trickle Down Effect on Decentralized Social Media
I have seen this trend of authors giving up due to lack of engagement. It is very difficult to onboard normies to HIVE and encourage them to keep posting content. I joined in 2017 and persevered despite not knowing anyone or barely having an interest in social media. Most people are not going to do that. When there is a community of already tech savvy players, things can be different. The Guild can create its own engagement. @kiokizz has created Season Report tool to make it very easy to write about the game with very useful insights. He is also a part of Roaring Twenties.
There are some changes coming to the onboarding experience for the players. Some details about the new designs were shared on Town Hall event from yesterday.
Splintertalk Can Be A Special Experience
@leofinance became the most successful SCOT Tribe by finding a good niche and continuously developing and innovating within the niche. At the moment, I don't see any prominent showcasing of Splintertalk DAPP on game website. It could be daunting for a complete normie with zero blockchain experience to use Keychain and manage their own keys. They may not even understand what private keys are.
we already have solution in the form of Lite Accounts. I have seen many projects such as @leofinance use Lite Accounts. Even @splinterlands allow users to login with E-mail or other Web 3 wallets. The same technology can be used to get players interested in experiencing true decentralized social media and earn for their activity that get posted to a censorship resistant blockchains.
Elon Musk will not be able to do what HIVE is doing for free speech even if he had the intention to do so. The technology and the community we have on our hands is extremely powerful and it is time we utilize them to reach masses and reach 10 million Monthly Active Users in this bear market. It is a difficult goal; but not an impossible one.
Happy Gaming! Happy Investing!
