Genesis League Goals is finally starting to show off some aspects of the gameplay. I did not buy a large quantity of Booster Packs because I had bigger priorities such as taking care of some basic expenses and focusing on existing games like @splinterlands which is developed by the same people. The latest Town Hall will get you upto speed on what is going to happen in the future.

If you prefer to be surprised and jump into whatever the adventures Genesis League Goals throws at you; it is time to get your team built!

Teams Are NFTs

GLS is different from the @splinterlands style teams that last 2.5 minutes for the Battle. The game offers something fresh and something that is closer to soccer/football (whichever you prefer).

Once you login, it should be easy to get started. Although the game is planned to have many strategic elements, it is not made to be difficult to get started (as many strategy games tend to be).

How To Build A Team

I lack the access to the details about gameplay. Therefore I prefer not to overthink the team building. @splinterlands is my primary investment and I have already grown fond of the way it is played in small byte sized Battles with long term commitments focused on the overall Deck and Land (which is optional to begin with).

Two Teams Claimed

I assume the number of Teams you would get to claim will depend on the number of Packs purchases. I had bought 11 Packs at $5 each. You could consider part of that investment to have already been recovered through the Airdrops and Pack Staking.

Name Your Team Appropriately

There are some guidelines for choosing names. They are not very strict as long as you don't intent to pick a very stylized name or a name that is not family friendly.

Creation of Team 1

The first team is the best team I have. I did't want to spread the few Cards I have around to create two equally good teams. I may have to rethink the way I have my Reserves and some of the Subs. Maybe having Reserves exclusively in Defence is not a smart idea. I may have to make some changes. Overall, This will be flagship Team for the game.

Creation of Team 2

I have kept the naming simple. Genesis League Goals is not what I expect to be my main game. Once Card Renting becomes available, I would likely stop playing and opt for earning passive income from the Cards I gained from the Booster Packs.

Get Ready for Longer + More Active Gameplay

Simple gameplay that have deeper layers of strategy is a great way to onboard new players and keep them around for long. Most of the explorers of Web 3 gaming are not into gaming as much as they are into investing. Although I consider myself a (primarily single player) gamer, I am still more of an investor than a gamer.

If Genesis League Goals shared too much DNA with @splinterlands, it would have fragmented the community rather than expand it. Now there are two types of gameplay (3 with Soulkeep release) that is related to $SPS and other associated assets. Not everyone needs to love every single game. As long as they like at least one of the games, they can be a part of the community. That is a strong way to build a community fast without throwing money at marketing.
