MDaas obtains $3 Million to improve health care | Access to health care in Nigeria

Biotechnology is a science that positively impacts the quality of life of those individuals who suffer from a health issue. We could also say that this technology was created to reduce the risks of a patient developing a disease in their body, as detecting an illness in time is absolutely crucial.

We consider biotechnology as a technology that merges with biology, which is undoubtedly essential in current times. In my particular opinion, it is something that totally fascinates me, not only because of how incredible it is to use technology in living organisms like us, so complex and enigmatic, but also because of the level of precision this science must have.

However, perhaps the investment of a diagnostic center requires a lot of money to fully equip each dedicated area. Fortunately, this has been improving a little more, as there are always complaints about lack of supplies and, of course, the fact that a hospital may not have the necessary specialized instruments or equipment to carry out healthcare work. This is precisely the point where attention must be focused.

In Nigeria, a company called MDaaS has managed to raise 3 million dollars in a funding round led by Aruwa Capital and Newton Partners. This company is dedicated to the healthcare sector, operating in a diverse network of diagnostic centers throughout the country. It's worth mentioning that Ventures Platform has invested in the brand, allowing the initial investment to rise to $6.8 million.

The reason for this major investment will be to launch the BeaconOS operating system so that it becomes a standardized platform for internal use in these clinics and gradually improve patients' access and medical care. It could even be mentioned that this technology could be adopted by other companies offering medical care and decide to use it for the management and monitoring of their patients.

It is clear that the most important objective is to detect diseases with a high degree of mortality. The first thing that comes to mind is to think about people who start experiencing symptoms and a slight suspicion, and undoubtedly early detection after a good diagnosis would increase the possibility of counteracting their effects and even combating and eradicating them completely.

Prevention in all its possibilities is something that MDaaS takes into account, so after various challenges, the company has received its due recognition. And there is still much to be done because, for example, in Africa, it is not common to study what is causing a disease in the body, but rather to act directly on it, so in the future, a health problem similar or even more serious could reoccur.

In this case, disease prevention will take precedence over treating them without knowing their origin, and it is an idea that is being promoted through various diagnoses for which each of the centers is being prepared using advanced technology.

MDaaS' expansion is increasing in recent times. Currently, it has 17 diagnostic centers available across 10 states, and one thing that is planned is to build 23 more over the next few years, which is an encouraging piece of information.

The interesting thing about this is that BeaconOS will be able to sync with SentinelX, which is an app where patients can manage their access to clinical care by paying a single annual fee to receive quality medical attention.

It is estimated that there are over 1300 doctors collaborating with MDaaS and since the company was founded, over 275,000 patients have been treated. Also, more than 240,000 diagnostic tests related to major detection, prevention, and care procedures have been conducted. These are very positive data pointing towards the successful operation and performance of the technology used.

Early detection of cancer or other health issues requiring progressive care and monitoring like diabetes or hypertension, are things for which a thorough examination would help decrease the emergence of something worse, and all indications are that MDaaS offers sufficient support for this.

Diagnosis through X-rays, ultrasound, and technology directly addressing various heart conditions are some of the services offered by the healthcare company. I believe at this point we can say it has been a very good investment, and any money spent, no matter how high the cost, will be well utilized if it's for people's health and well-being.
