What was left from the past CES 2024 managed to impress me quite a bit, and beyond being practically focused on AI, you could also find very striking technology, such as Samsung's transparent displays that shone at the event.

Of course, their use could be in multiple circumstances, although the first thing that came to my mind was that it could perform well in the most important galleries where a product or offers need to be displayed to potential customers. Besides being a strategy to consider, it would add a touch of sophistication and a rise in quality to the business.

I must say that I haven't thought of another use other than that, but I feel that I have really missed out.

Lenovo has amazed us with its newest and most ambitious technology that puts us face to face with a limitless future. Recently, it has introduced the first laptop in the industry featuring a fully transparent screen. While it is a concept that will be showcased at the MWC24, it has everything to stand out.

Lenovo: Transparent Display Concept

The prototype of this Lenovo ThinkBook, known as "Project Crystal," features a 17.3-inch display with a transparent screen using Micro-LED technology (the same as we have seen in Samsung) that will be equipped with a brightness of 1000 nits, ensuring the colors will be stunning and vibrant, especially considering that the resolution will be adapted to new standards.

The other thing we can also highlight in the way it impresses us is that the proposed model does not have a physical keyboard, that is, another screen is available, on which there will be a superimposed digital keyboard that in turn will serve for drawing or writing, as it would be ideal for graphic designers in my opinion, although there may also be other uses, such as in the field of architecture.

Clearly, we all wonder, what about privacy? That is, the screen is completely transparent, so it is possible to see from the back what is being played in a reproducing manner. I think this is what they should focus on the most if they plan and manage to bring the product to mass production, although I do not rule out that the idea is not this but oriented towards offering these computers to certain sectors where this is not a problem but an intention.

The most logical thing would be for its use to take place in doctor's offices to offer instant information to the patient or a team of doctors suggesting a new way of carrying out their practices. Of course, this would make more sense if this information can be fully legible, which, in my opinion, would be done through software that allows it.

Created with Kittl AI

Something we can add is that it will include a rear camera that gives more possibilities for the use of augmented reality applications. It will be built with AI, which will allow overlaying information in the environment in a very intuitive way. A technology that could be leveraged in collaboration and education environments. I believe this would be very useful if done in the field of education with a strong impact in the areas of medicine and architecture.

Will it have the expected success or will it be something that will remain as news in the past? There is no doubt that it is a necessary technology for the evolution of others and by looking at it that way, that is where the true value lies. If successful, new variations will come, so from now on we would be seeing other prototypes of great interest.
