Genesis Digital Assets expands Bitcoin mining operations in North Carolina | Three new facilities!

I have no doubt that the future of the world will be adapted to cryptocurrencies. I still remember very well when I used to spend some afternoons having coffee while reading with total attention and amazement the news about Bitcoin. We will skip the take-off in its price because we all know it, because it was something that happened at an accelerated pace to our present.

Genesis Digital Assets has facilities spread around the world and today it was news that the company opened new ones in the USA. The opening of three new facilities is given in North Carolina. These data centers are precisely located in Anderson, while the other two are in Union and Lockhart.

Genesis Digital Assets tiene instalaciones repartidas en el mundo y hoy fue noticia que la compañía abrió otras nuevas en EE.UU. La apertura de tres nuevas instalaciones se da en Carolina del Norte. Estos centros de datos están precisamente ubicados en Anderson, mientras que los otros dos en Union y Lockhart.

In its entirety, the total combined capacity is 33 MW (megawatts), with 18 MW for the Anderson installation and 15 MW for Union and Lockhart. This is added to the fact that in Texas last year the construction of another 40 MW facility had begun. At this rate it can be said with certainty that it is a solid expansion that is very significant at first glance.

En su conjunto la capacidad combinada total es de 33 MV (Megavatios), siendo para la instalación de Anderson unos 18 MV y, para Union y Lockhart, 15 MV. A esto se le suma como dato que en Texas el año pasado se había iniciado la construcción de otra instalación de 40 MV. A este ritmo se puede decir con total seguridad que se trata de una expansión sólida que a simple vista es muy significativa.

With respect to the expansion of GDA in other continents, this type of infrastructure that focuses on Bitcoin mining is available in Europe, Asia and North America, representing 2% of the total hash of the Bitcoin network.

It cannot be denied that there is innovation and better energy utilization than what may imply the use of other energies that could be harmful to the environment. In my opinion, it is the use of a technology that is better exploited and that with its constant development and evolution, it could be considered as a much more effective and efficient solution.

No se puede negar que existe innovación y un mejor aprovechamiento de la energía respecto a lo que puede implicar el uso de otro tipo de energías que puedan llegar a ser nocivas para el medioambiente. En mi opinión se trata del uso de una tecnología que es mejor aprovechada y que con su constante desarrollo y evolución, podría ser considerada como una solución mucho más eficaz y eficiente.

The company stressed that Hitachi dry-type distribution transformers will be used in these data centers, which will operate through clean energy and will return energy to the grid in case of need.

La compañía remarcó que se usarán transformadores de distribución de tipo seco de la marca Hitachi en estos centros de datos los cuales funcionarán a través de energía limpia y podrán devolver energía a la red dado un caso de necesidad.

The next halving is getting closer and with this in mind, what will happen to these Bitcoin mining centers if the difficulty of mining increases more and more? Maybe they find a way to keep efficiency intact, but for the moment, these are things that must be questioned about the subject.
