What is anthropomorphism?

Anthropomorphismus ist, wenn man einem Tier oder einer KI menschliche Eigenschaften zuschreibt wie eine Persönlichkeit, Emotionen oder ein Bewusstsein.

Anthropomorphismus ist ein ziemlich schwieriges, langes Wort, das ich kaum aussprechen kann.

Es stammt aus dem Griechischen und ist eine Wortkombination aus "ánthrōpos" (Mensch) und "morphē" (Form). Die menschliche Form.

Man verwendet den Begriff oft um den menschlichen Bias auszudrücken, in allen Lebewesen und jetzt auch bei KIs menschliche Züge zu sehen und diese zu übertreiben.

Bei Tieren bin ich mir allerdings ziemlich sicher, dass sie eine Art von Bewusstsein und auch Gefühle haben.

Wenn KIs zunehmend intelligenter werden, denke ich, dass viele Menschen auch KIs "anthropomorphisieren" werden. Das ist jetzt schon der Fall.

Oft kommt dann das Argument, dass neuronale Netze niemals Gefühle und kein Bewusstsein haben können, aber das Argument finde ich etwas schwach, da man genauso bei Menschen sagen könnte, jedes einzelne Neuron hätte auch kein Bewusstsein und keine Gefühle, sondern führt nur Berechnungen aus.

Man muss das Gesamtsystem betrachten. Dieses kann dann neue Fähigkeiten aufweisen, die die Fähigkeiten der einzelnen Zellen übersteigt.

Was sagt ihr dazu? Habt ihr euch schon dabei ertappt, eine KI zu anthropomorphisieren?

Anthropomorphism is when you ascribe human characteristics to an animal or AI such as a personality, emotions, or consciousness.

Anthropomorphism is a rather difficult, long word that I can hardly pronounce.

It comes from Greek and is a word combination of "ánthrōpos" (human) and "morphē" (form). Human form.

People often use the term to express the human bias of seeing human traits in all living things, and now also AIs, and exaggerating them.

In animals, however, I'm pretty sure they have some kind of consciousness as well as feelings.

As AIs become increasingly intelligent, I think many people will "anthropomorphize" AIs as well. This is already happening.

Often then comes the argument that neural networks can never develop feelings nor consciousness, but I find the argument somewhat weak, since one could say the same about humans, each individual neuron would also have no consciousness and no feelings, but they only performs calculations.

One must consider the total system. The whole system can then show emerging capabilities, which exceed the abilities of the individual cells.

I think all humans have feelings towards several other things. Peoples have different kinds of emotions and feelings towards things they like or dislike.

Lernen wir mit dem ersten Teddybär den man uns in die Wiege setzt. Mit KI ist es mir noch nicht passiert, aber meine Autos hatten immer eine Art Seele.
Kein Fan von KI, aber genau genommen wäre eine ehrliche und menschenfördernde KI am Ende sogar der "bessere" Freund?

Ich glaube das ist mir bisher noch nicht passiert, dass ich eine KI anthromorphisiert hätte.

Aber ich habe mich sofort dabei erwischt zu fragen, ob das Bild der Ziege echt ist. 😂

Eine einzelne Zelle als Teil des Ganzen beinhaltet alle Infos der Gesamtheit. Ist bei einem Wassertropfen genauso insb. wenn man da in dem Bereich der Quantenphysik vorstoßt. Die gesamte Homöopathie basiert darauf. Was die Anthropomorphisierung des KI anbelangt -- nicht in seiner derzeitigen Form.

Zählt Höflichkeit ("bitte" und so) schon dazu? Dann ja.

Ansonsten fällt es mir bei Tieren schon schwieriger, diese nicht zu "vermenschlichen".

No, i haven't found anthropomorphizing an AI, but i have found many times my wife's mother have some human characteristics 😆😂

I think it's a complex topic and I think AI has improved a lot. I have heard some people talk about using AI to replace NPCs or players in dead games. It could work out well and they would remember what you as a player did. So I do think they can improve things.
