Die Text-zu-Musik KI von Google klingt super, aber das Modell wurde nicht veröffentlicht, nur ein paar Samples.

Bis jetzt lag der Fokus von intelligenten Sprachmodellen eher bei der Generierung von Bildern und Text, aber Forscher arbeiten bereits an einem ähnlichen Modell für Musik.

Das heißt, man beschreibt den gewünschten Musikstil einfach mit einem Prompt und die KI generiert dann einen passenden Soundtrack, der nicht urheberrechtlich geschützt und zum Beispiel in YouTube Videos frei verwendet werden kann. Genial.

Ein Prompt könnte zum Beispiel lauten "schneller Arcade-Soundtrack im Stil von SID, 8-bit, upbeat, repetitiv und gut merkbar, futuristisch."

Ein ähnliches Sample hat Google in den Beispielen generiert (erstes Beispiel) und das Ergebnis ist beeindruckend.

In Zukunft könnte jede mögliche Tonfolge von einer KI zu einer Musik generiert werden, wenn das nicht eh bereits der Fall ist. Das wird das Urheberrecht auf den Kopf stellen und zu sehr viel Widerstand führen.

Wir sind jetzt ganz am Anfang der Entwicklung, aber sogar Vocals sollen in Zukunft möglich sein zu generieren.

Das wird für die Musikindustrie und vor allem für das Lizenzgeschäft eine enorme Herausforderung werden.

Viele Labels würden das wahrscheinlich am liebsten verbieten wollen. Unendlich langes Copyright auf einfachen, generischen Tonfolgen reklamieren.

Was meint ihr? Wann wird das erste brauchbare Modell als Open-Source veröffentlicht? Wie wird sich das auf das Lizenzgeschäft von Verwertungsgesellschaften etc. auswirken?

Until now, the focus of large language models has been more on generating images and text, but researchers are already working on a similar technique for music.

That is, you simply describe the style of music you want with a text prompt and the AI then generates a suitable soundtrack that is not copyrighted and can be freely used in YouTube videos, for example. Amazing.

A prompt might look like this "fast arcade soundtrack in the style of SID, 8-bit, upbeat, repetitive and easy to remember, futuristic."

Google generated a similar sample in the examples (first example) and the result is impressive.

In the future, any sequence of notes could be generated into music by an AI, if it isn't already the case. This will turn copyright on its head and lead to a lot of resistance.

We are now at the very beginning of the development, but even vocals should be possible to generate in the future.

That will be a huge challenge for the music industry and especially for the licensing business.

Many labels would probably prefer to ban this. Claiming infinite copyright on simple, generic sequences of notes.
