Computer RAM prices are skyrocketing 🚀
Vor zwei Monaten hat ein 32GB DDR5 Kingston Fury Beast RAM-Kit noch ungefähr 120 Euro gekostet, jetzt kostet es über 420 Euro, was heftig ist. Und das ist noch das günstigste Angebot auf Geizhals.
Ähnlich wie vor ein paar Jahren während Corona, wo vor allem GPUs im Preis gestiegen sind aber auch generell PC-Komponenten schwer zu bekommen waren, trifft es jetzt hauptsächlich den Speicher, da man wegen dem KI-Boom Unmengen an schnellen Speichermodulen benötigt.
Was sagt ihr dazu? Ist euch der steile Anstieg der RAM-Preise schon aufgefallen? Wer jetzt vor Weihnachten einen PC zusammenbauen will, muss mit deutlich höheren Preisen rechnen.

Two months ago, a 32GB DDR5 Kingston Fury Beast RAM kit cost around 120 euros, but now it costs over 420 euros, which is steep. And that's still the cheapest offer on Geizhals, a price comparison site in Austria.
Similar to a few years ago during the corona, when GPUs in particular rose in price but PC components in general were also difficult to obtain, it is now mainly memory that is affected, as the AI boom has created a huge demand for fast memory modules.
What do you think? Have you noticed the sharp rise in RAM prices? Anyone who wants to build a PC before xmas will have to reckon with significantly higher prices.

Naja wenn Du mich liest, hättest ja auch 128 GiB Kits gekauft weil ich genau sowas angesagt habe.
OK, ich habe gesagt das sich die Preise auf keinen Fall da unten halten, nicht, das sie Skyrocketen. :-)
Haha ich fühle mich so Reich inzwischen. Hab ja nur Hardware investiert die letzten Jahre, jetzt bekomme ich endlich mal Recht. :-) Wieder mal. :-) Nächster Stopp, Bitcoin ASICs zerstören. ;-) Dannach BCXAI und dann noch viel viel mehr. :-)
Schade das es kicht bei uralten RAM auch so ist, das man die verhindern kann zu einem guten Preis.
Muss wohl noch warten das der Goldpreis wieder steigt, damit es sich lohnt die an einen Verwerter zu verkaufen. Ein paar habe ich ja !BBH

Speicher für KI´s- bei lokalen LLMs hat sich einiges getan in den letzen 2 Monaten.
I didn't know computer memory prices had increased so much. I bought a new MacBook with 16GB of memory this year, but I don't think MacBooks are getting any more expensive.
Interessant. Meinst du das kommt wirklich vom KI-Boom? Fand es damals schon krass, wie stark die Grafikkarten angestiegen sind.
Denke schon, dass die Preise im Zusammenhang mit dem KI-Boom gestiegen sind, da die Nachfrage für Speicherchips generell gestiegen ist, da Big Tech Hunderte Milliarden in KI-Rechenzentren investiert bzw investieren will. Aber könnte auch eine Spekulationskomoponente dabei sein, ähnlich wie mit gpus früher.

Heftig wie die RAM Preise durch die Decke gehen hab ich bisher noch nicht drauf geachtet . Auf einmal ist mein Equipment viel mehr wert haha :D

I have noticed that the prices have gone up. Personally, I think you should look at Gamers Nexus cover of things. It looks like companies are pulling out of the consumer market and putting it into the big corporations due to the AI demand.
I guess I have to wait for the prices to drop first before buying an additional memory
Wow, the price jump is crazy, I can’t believe a 32GB RAM kit went from 120 euros to over 420 euros. The AI boom is really affecting everything.
