Battery change in EV in 5 minutes.

Nio introduces battery exchange stations to Europe, where such a replacement will take only 5 minutes. I'm not a big fan of such a solution and it seems to me that it does not have a great future, but stations are already being built all over Europe, so it must pay off for someone. Classic battery charging even on the fastest chargers takes at least 20 minutes, so swap is much faster, but do not forget that batteries and charging technology are rapidly developing and battery replacement stations will become unattractive and at the same time environmentally burdensome. What do you think about it?

And it seems to me that this is a road to nowhere. The more that such a station supports only Nio cars and probably each brand will have a different standard and its own stations (?)

They're needs to a standard introduced as there is with most charging CCS etc

The ranges of cars grow quickly if it comes to the fact that for many charging will be necessary once a month, the difference whether it is 5 minutes or 20 minutes does not matter much.

On place occupied by such a station can probably charge three, maybe four cars at the same time.

If they're essentially pop up stations that works, easily movable and once depleted taken down. One thing is, it's certainly faster.

In the video you can see that they probably have a "floor" down because that's where spare batteries are stored and charged. But I'm not sure.
